Thomas Cook holidays are currently running a photo competition until mid-March asking bloggers to post their best photographs that represent the 4 elements (Earth, Water, Fire & Air), as I've done a fair bit of travelling of late and visited a number of countries it seemed a no-brainer to enter, until I had to narrow down each of the elements to just a single photograph, it's like asking someone to name their favourite child! After much deliberat...

North Wales Hospital, or Denbigh Asylum as it's known locally is a Grade II listed building & complex set on the outskirts of Denbigh. Designed by architect Thomas Full James, the building was completed in 1848 and served as a hospital for people with psychiatric illnesses up until it's demise in 1995, where it has stood derelict ever since. Hugely popular with urban explorers, the building itself is now in a very dangerous state of repair, large...

Doing these in no particular order, this one is from our final day in Doha. Spent it strolling round the very impressive looking Pearl Qatar Island looking out over to where we were staying in West Bay.

Another lighthouse to add to the collection of aerial pics. This one is Flamborough Head Lighthouse as seen from the air, looking out over the North Sea towards Denmark.

Can just about make out the shadowy figures of +Will Cheung  and myself to the left of lighthouse.

Introduction
I'm James, up until recently just an average guy stuck in the rat race. Now, I'm still in the 9-5, but then undergo a miraculous transformation outside of working hours, turning into a photography nerd.

Attend the occasional festival, I'm a sucker for muddy fields.

Went on a Sunday - big mistake. Queued in traffic for about 30 minutes to even get in the car park, then battled with drivers for another 30 minutes trying to find a space. Busy inside as it always is on a weekend, got everything we needed and then as is inevitable when visiting IKEA, several things we didn't intend to get! Had the obligatory meatballs and mash, great as always and cheap.

It's a car park, not much else to say really! You drive in, get a ticket, find a space, go off and do your stuff, pay your money upon return and then drive off. Not the cheapest car park in the world, but then none of them in Chester are.

Went for a stag do, same as countless others presumably. Enjoyable evening with a featured race allowing us to name race and be pictured with winner. Stadium looking rough round the edges, average food and beer, probably wouldn't go back but worth a single visit
