Several months ago my fiancée and I made the decision that we were tire of renting and that it was time to look into buying a house. Oh. My. God. There is so much involved. It’s not as simple as “I want that one, give me a loan so I can buy it.” We looked…

I’ve obviously been pretty lackadaisical with blogging over the last several weeks. My last update was from November 16, 2014, titled WoW: Warlords of Draenor – First Impressions. I good bit of why I haven’t been blogging is due to playing the game on…

We all, from time to time, need time to recharge; to just have extended time away from work and engage in recreational activities beyond the scope of just our day(s) off. And so, we take vacations. I’m very lucky in that I work for a company that provides…

I really like where I live. It’s very convenient to work (I’m less than four miles from my office). We have a good selection of places to shop, restaurants, and parks. It’s quiet. All in all, I think we made a pretty good choice when we selected this…

I would like to start off by saying that there is nothing wrong with my car except that it is going on a decade old. Mechanically, it’s fine and even gets about the same mileage as it did the day I drove it off the lot of the now defunct Saturn dealership…

I’m All About That Vape

Back in January, in my post “Not Exactly New Year’s Resolutions” one of the things I mentioned was my quest to quit smoking by using e-cigarettes. I am happy to report that as of six weeks, five days ago, I am cigarette free and now exclusively “vape” for…

We’re a few weeks into 2015 now; I imagine most of those New Year’s Resolutions are either in full effect or completely forgotten about by now, at least for those that actually make New Year’s Resolutions. According to usa.gov, some popular New Year’s…

If you play World of Warcraft®, or are friends on social media with someone that does, you no doubt know by now that Blizzard Entertainment released Warlords of Draenor™, its latest expansion for the game, on November 13. You are also probably aware that…

It's possible, but you do have to wonder if FFXIV is still big enough to make someone want to DDoS their servers or not like has happened to Blizzard twice now in the last few months.

By now, everyone has heard (or at least heard about) the infamous viral recording of the Comcast agent who just didn’t want to let a customer cancel his service. If you haven’t, you can listen to it here on SoundCloud. It’s pretty long, by the way.…

This may very well be old news, but in case you haven’t heard, LeVar Burton is re-launching Reading Rainbow. It’s highly possible that I can trace my becoming a bibliophile to shows like Reading Rainbow and programs like Reading is Fundamental that…

4 months ago my opinion was: "Really not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I was promptly, politely, and professionally helped with my upgrade. Matt did a great job and gave awesome customer service." Today (9/21/13) my opinion changed. We went there to have my fiance's phone fixed, replaced or upgraded. We were not allowed inside and had to wait outside for an available sale associate. They're reason was that they need to control traffic due to the new iPhone release. We weren't even allowed in to browse while we waited? Oh, and it was raining too. We observed several associates standing around not helping anyone, and hardly any customers in the store so I'm calling BS on their need to "control traffic". 5 mintues later, we were allowed inside, then waited another 5-10 before finally being approached by Dexter, who seemed less than enthusiastic to help us; why would a sales associate's first response be that "it's going to be cheaper if you upgrade online." ? Really? Not interested in making that sale, eh buddy? To top it off, the phone my fiance liked wasn't even in stock and we saw several folks leaving without having made a purchase. Honestly, were it not for the outrageous early termination fee I'd incur for it, I'd seriously consider switching to AT&T and bundling my cellphone with my U-verse service after this horrible lack of customer service.
