Photographer living in The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
Introduction
Photographer living in Lydney, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
I started taking photographs with a Lubitel 166 when I was 13 under the tuition of my father, who was a photographer in the RAF. Upgraded to an Olympus OM1n & 50mm F1.8 about a year later, I still have the body and lens. Developed and printed my own B&W stuff in late teens for a few years.
Took an enforced break from photography due to college, money, career, house, wife, kids - sort of in that order (!) until I purchased an Olympus E510 with twin lens kit a few years ago.
I have enjoyed the learning curve in going digital and have become a liitle bit addicted to long exposure stuff, both above and below ground.
Recently changed to Nikon after 30 years of Olympus due to their lack of development on the serious DSLR front.
C&C always welcome.

It's been a while since I have had the opportunity to take any LE shots. This is the first in a short series of coastal LE shots taken on a recent trip to Cornwall over last weeks half term with the family.

Lee Big Stopper, 0.6 Hard Grad - F16 @ 75 seconds.

IR Conversion Test Shot

A test shot from my newly converted D40x using a piece cut from a Hoya R72 to replace the hot mirror. My sincere thanks to +Julian Provis for his expertise in doing the conversion.
Basically replacing the hot mirror means I can now use the camera as a dedicated IR body and have no need to attached a Infra Red filter in front on the lens meaning easier composition and shutter speeds that enable handheld shots (although I will no doubt be adding the Lee Big Stopper to creat some LE work in the future).
The first version has been channel swapped, whilst the other is a B&W to show the difference in what can achieved.
ISO100, F8, 1/200th sec - handheld.
