At last upgrade, my wife paid $50 for a Droid DNA and we pay $60/month for Verizon 4G with 400 mins talk (no text but we use GVoice so it doesn't matter). Over 2 years, that's $1490. With Republic Wireless we could get a Moto X for $300 and pay $25/month for 3G or $40/month for 4G without contract. That's $900 over two years for the 3G option (includes price of phone) and $1260 for the 4G option. That's a savings of between $230-590.

I'm so done with Verizon. Republic Wireless will be my new home at the next upgrade.
Take a test drive! Try Republic for 30 days. If you're not satisfied, return it for a full refund.* *We'll refund the cost of the phone and service. Initial shipping fee is non-refundable. Take it for a spin! Take a test drive!

They have a list of things they have to do each day to earn $5. Mostly it's homework, zone (they have to clean an area of the house), music practice, pick up shoes, coat, and backpack. It's all or nothing so some days they slack off hard.

Great to see a legendary American company finally give Toyota a run for its money. Ford is launching some great cars and even though I've always been a Toyota person, I now would seriously consider a Ford.

I will find the vehicle that has the best combination of features I am looking for and solid reliability. If Ford has gotten its act together on the reliability side, then I would consider one too. It also helps my decision to know that Ford didn't have to be bailed out by the government.

I love hackery...just installed ICS on my Droid Razr. No worries about getting timely updates from the manufacturer (last data Moto gave on an upgrade was around Sept) when you're willing to do all sorts of crazy rooting/roms stuff!
Owners of Motorola devices who might want to flash some vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich with no Blur attached now have additional options when looking to do so. There have been ICS ROMs available already, ...

Very interesting. I would tend to think that because so many foundational things like the toilet have been invented that the technology that we research and create would be far different. Thus their impact would be vastly different. The "easy" problems have been some what resloved or figured out now we can look to newer more complex problems and ideas. While Government has a HUGE impact on innovation, I think its lack of support will continue to create a deep divide between classes and wealth distribution. Those that have the means and the guts to drive innovation will win...

This is an excellent article. Software has an enormous potential for good but with that good comes the need for a rethinking of what it means to stay relevant in the work force.

Tied for first in the Krannert bracket and 91 percentile overall in Yahoo. I'm quite pleased with the results :-)

Catch notes is amazing. Finally a really good cloud-based notes application (not a fan of Evernote).

Great quote: " Constantly remind your team to assume positive intent about others."

One of my senior clients used to keep a "no whining" sign in her office. It seemed odd to have the sign so prominently displayed at a senior executive...
