When so much media tends to be as humorless about sex as a gym teacher in health class, Matt Fraction does something very different with Sex Criminals: he looks sex in the eye—and laughs.

Yeah, so nowhere in this paper does the word "Oligarchy" appear.

All it says is that it doesn't look like the "average-citizen" has much, if any, influence on policy, and that when she does get what she wants, it might only be because her interests happen to align with those who actually wield influence. It suggests that rather than the Majoritarian Pluralism most often associated with the kind of system to which we purport to strive, in practice the US political system looks more like Biased Pluralism.

It's frustrating and disheartening, but stretching the results for the sake of a headline does nobody any good. Polarizing "Teh US is an Ogligarkkky" and "Liburul Eeleets at a fancy collage Hatez freedomz and sucksess" headlines from left and right-wing news sources, respectively; along with stories that ignore the actual results of the study, force the national conversation three steps back from the half-step most legitimate studies try to make forward, and feed into the problem that we're trying to pinpoint.

What I would love to see, but I don't know how it would be possible, is an analysis of how the average person's opinion is influenced by interest groups and the wealthy elite.

Then we can start really talking about the disgusting nature of for-profit, corporate-owned news outlets scientifically.

Not that we'd ever hear about a study like that, though.

I'm gonna get through this later.

I don't trust a single news source to tell me what this says honestly.

5 Healthy Summer Foods to Add to Your Diet

Here are some #foods that one must add to the summer #diet for a healthy body.

Summer season calls for a change in the diet and lighter meals, with more fluids, given the rising mercury levels and long days. Here is a list of some healthy foods, that one must include in their daily meal to remain fresh and healthy in summers -

1. Corn: That's right! A cob of #corn comes with a number of antioxidants, which prevent some harmful sun rays from affecting your skin. Not just that, these antioxidants also lower the risk of age-related problems.

2. Cold coffee: Switch your cup of morning #tea with a cup of iced #coffee for a fresh start to your daily routine. It is not just the freshness that comes with cold coffee that is good, it also lowers the risk of skin cancer, something that the scorching heat is known to cause.

3. Tomatoes: These veggies might be seen as a #salad item, but #tomatoes act as a natural sunscreen - protecting you against sunburn.

4. Watermelon: Amongst the favorite #fruits in the summer season is the #watermelon, which contains 92 per cent water and helps one keep hydrated. It also protects the skin against harmful sun rays.

5. #Cherries: These tiny fruits can help in inducing better sleep for people who have insomnia problems in the heat. They are also beneficial for people on a diet as they can help one get lean by decreasing the fat storage in one's body.

But Rabbi Kaminezki said fears of a fascist revival had faded, “as there is a difference between what these people say to their own crowd and what they do when they become legitimate political leaders.”

Isn't that what they said about the Nazis in Germany before they went nuts?
Despite assertions by Russia, many Ukrainian Jews say there has not been a resurgence of anti-Semitism since the revolution in February.

A brief description of me
Introduction
I'm a secular humanist 20-something on the outside, and midlife crisis on the inside. Losing a couple pounds wouldn't be the worst thing that ever happened to me- that honor is held by Nickleback. Nickleback is also the worst thing to ever happen to you, too, in case you didn't know.

I don't like making assumptions about people (Which isn't to say I don't do it, I just don't like doing it) and I don't like it when people make assumptions about me.

I like Google+ because it's a great opportunities to learn and teach, which are two of my favorite things. They're not first and second, but they're definitely top 10. But that's what I'm looking to do here.

I'm also absolutely ridiculous in some ways, so don't be surprised when I say ridiculous things. Or do, I don't care.

I'd mention my twitter here, but if you're on twitter and would want to follow me you can find it yourself. You lazy bum.
Bragging rights
If you bother listening to me for more than a couple minutes, I'll brag plenty. I'll spare you for now.

Hey Atheists, Just Shut Up Please | VICE United States
www.vice.com

I speak of a subtype of militant atheists who I’ll call the “Reddit Atheists.” It’s not enough that they don’t believe in God, they want to

I really wanted to fall in love with this place. I wanted to overlook whatever shortcomings it had, and point to it as an example of locally owned food-with-a-conscience type places being worth the extra cost. The service killed it, though. It took ten minutes to get our drinks, every time. The good selection of tasty, unique mixed drinks, and a strong beer list only made it worse, because we couldn't stand waiting around that long. Both of our entrées were wrong, after waiting 45 minutes for them. If the servers didn't seem so disinterested it wouldn't have been so bad. I may go back to the bar for a beer sometime, but I don't think I'll be having dinner again.

Commuted through Ogilvie every day for a year, and liked it very much. So much easier to get around in than Union Station, and everything is to find. The only thing I'd say negative in it, is to stay the heck away from that McDonalds. The service their is stunningly bad. I never thought I'd say this, but go to Taco Bell instead. Friendly staff, and quicker, too. Or Burrito Beach. Anywhere but that @&#$$@#( McDonald's

I ordered the skillet, it was hash browns and an egg, that they put on a cold skillet. Defeats the purpose, as far as I'm concerned. The waitress wasn't _rude_, but she wasn't exactly friendly either. Bill Clinton may have eaten there, but I somehow doubt he had the same experience as the plebeians do when we go there.

Get my coffee there every morning. Best I've found. Beats the pants off McDonalds, Starbucks, even Dunkin Donuts. The breakfast menu is somewhat limited, which is kind of frustrating, but the bagels are soooo good it's definitely worth it.

This was a pretty great venue. I saw The Mowglis, and the atmosphere fit the band _perfectly_. Small venues are awesome for bands like that. The ones that cultivate a sense of community in the audience. Made a ton of friends, drank a ton of cheap (but still very strong *whew*) drinks, and had a great time. Hopefully won't be my last show there.

For the most part, a cupcake is a cupcake is a cupcake, and no matter what it tastes like, it's near impossible to compete with the comforting feel of a homemade cupcake, but what with the tons of different varieties and delicious fillings, Crumbs gives a homemade cupcake a run for it's money... ... Don't tell my mom...
