House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) confirmed Thursday night that GOP leadership will not bring a revised ObamaCare repeal bill to the floor this week.

White House officials had been pushing for a vote by President Trump's 100th day in office on Saturday, but it was clear Thursday night that the 216 GOP votes needed to pass the healthcare bill had not materialized.

At least 21 Republicans had come out against the bill, with many more undecided. Leaders can only afford 22 GOP defections.

Rest in Peace Mr. Demme. The Film World and Maine Lake won't be the same without you...

The White House announced Monday that it would host an unusual private briefing on North Korea for the entire Senate, prompting questions from lawmakers about whether the Trump administration intends to use the event as a photo op ahead of its 100-day mark.

Press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that the lawmakers would be briefed Wednesday by several senior administration officials, including Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis. He emphasized that the meeting plan had been convened by Senate leadership and that the White House was serving “as the location.”

Yet the White House setting perplexed lawmakers who have grown accustomed to such briefings taking place in a secure location on Capitol Hill, where there is more room to handle such a large group.

That is apparently not fast enough for Trump, whose proposed 2018 budget cuts funding for NASA by about 1 percent. “Well, we want to try and do it during my first term or, at worst, during my second term,” he responded. “So we’ll have to speed that up a little bit, okay?”
