This is where I work.  This can be where you work, too!  Missouri University of Science and Technology is hiring a UI/UX designer for our new web team.  Use your psychic powers and design skills to help reimagine the university's web presence.  Be one of the few designers who can say their employer has a nuclear reactor!

Above all else we want to see an awesome portfolio.  Talent, taste, and love of the internet win the day.

This video never gets old.

Watch some glass break at 130,000 frames per second. It's pretty cool - you can see the failure front move throughout the piece.

‘Wasp’ is an English word, but ‘telk’ is not. You and I know this because we speak English. But in a French laboratory, six baboons have also learned to tell the difference between genuine English words, and nonsense ones. They can sort their wasps from their telks, even though they have no idea that the former means a stinging insect and the latter means nothing. They don’t understand the language, but can ‘read’ nonetheless.

I'd heard of "Elders react" but never "Kids react"... but this was hilarious. I can't wait until the further into the future when I can be that person who tells kids stories that begin with "Back in my day...!"

This is adorable.
Originally marketed in 1979, the first Sony Walkman turns 35 this year, and it's about as outmoded as a technology can be these days. That's why it's understandable that the kids in this delightful video, none of whom were not alive in the 90s, have no idea how to use the thing. Or what it's for. They can't even conceive a world in which a Walkman is useful.

It's interesting how much work went into keeping the Google Maps Pokémon Challenge a secret from Team Teardown (I am coining that right now). It's not like the Maps APK is full of Pokémon text and pictures and we missed it, it's all streamed in from the Google Maps servers.

The Google Maps tiles have always been cloud based, but with the new design entire pages of the Maps interface are cloud-based now, too. All the card contents in the Pokédex, the card backgrounds, the Pokémon pictures and locations, and all the text live somewhere on the internet. It's a wonder we even use APKs anymore!

The food is decent, the service is terrible. I used to be a regular, but the service has been steadily declining over the past couple of months. It started out with parts of our order being forgotten, having to ask multiple times for my drink, drinks never getting refilled. Recently they bring out different parts of the meal at drastically different times - one person is almost done eating before the other gets food. The tables are never cleared and I've been asked to sit at a dirty table (as in, the dishes were still on it) - which is completely unacceptable. The last straw was we sat in the restaurant for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. We got up, left, went to Huddle House and haven't looked back since. The food is generally pretty good. I like the burgers and the breakfast foods are all good. One other problem is that the menus are about 6 pages long with half the items crossed off in marker. It makes it hard to find what foods they actually have. I'd give them a chance again if they got their act together, but for now, you're best off getting better service just about anywhere else.

Terrible customer service. Bought a $25 headcollar and it turns out the package was empty. Store refused to do anything about it.
