There is no excuse for the absence of women in robotics speakers at events. Robotics is pervasive – at event dealing with Machine Learning, Ethics, Surgery, Architecture, Education, Entrepreneurship – we should be able to hear their voice. When I look at the number of successful, imaginative, smart women I know, who would have so much to offer on any conversation about the future of our society, I can’t help but create a tool to amplify their voice. As an event organizer, you have to know that without a female voice, you are failing your audience.
That’s the story behind the Women in Robotics Directory.
160+ women are listed. The directory needs you to grow and be more accurate – you can submit a friend, coworker, colleague, mentor!

Last week, I learned about the manufacturing of the cutest robot toy ever ( #Cozmo   by +Anki ) the first eye-surgery performed by a robot, the fact that #robocars   are not likely to happen BUT driverless buses just MIGHT, and many different opinions about robotics & jobs (see you in a hundred years to cut it short).

I thought that July was going to slow down on announcement and news, but this week has just proven me wrong!

What I learned this week (or, rather last week): how will robot taxis (the future of +UBER FRANCE +Uber ) adapt to the poor ? The shutdown of +Nest's hub proves us the incapacity of the #internetofthings  to find a viable business model - even if you're acquired by #Google. I heard about +Linkurious , and how they secured #dataviz  for the #panamapapers  - and the TRUTH about the wonderful Chinese Takeout Boxes. Yeah!

Let’s begin a new experiment : because of what I do professionally, I read a LOT (I mean, a REAL LOT) of news, articles, tweets, newsletters, day and night. Just sharing them on twitter, or Facebook, or Linkedin seems useless now (the whole « twitter changed its spirit » thing).
Inspired by Nicola Nova and Scott Smith, let’s begin a weekly article, summarizing what I learned each week!
