Easter Egg or Not?

It may sound weird at first - but I suggest giving your kids the best chocolate you can find in small doses due to price

If you explain that it costs a lot but tastes soooooooo good it helps with child logic to understand why they aren't getting a gigantic bar (or bunny yikes!).

Why do this? That's going to get expensive isn't it? Well... sorta but then something magical happens: Your kids become chocolate snobs. When they taste normal chocolate they won't like it or want it. They will want the good stuff.

Which is served in small doses due to price ;)

It works with many foods. One of my kids is a cheeseburger fanatic. I've never blinked at buying her the best damn burgers I can find and now she's a bit more picky :) It works! :)

My basic principle about kids and reading is don't get upset about what they are reading. They may be reading what you think is trash, but at least they are reading and they will eventually move on to something else.

Introduction

I have been writing Tinned Tomatoes, a vegetarian and vegan food blog since early 2007. It is packed with nearly 500 recipes that all the family can enjoy, including lots of cakes and sweet treats. All my recipes are easy to make and I try to avoid more unusual ingredients.

Why not pop by for a chat?

I also write for Baby Centre UK and Great British Chefs.

I founded and run the Clandestine Cake Club Dundee branch.

I look forward to meeting you.
