Nothing earth-shattering in Go 1.3, but a lot of nice performance improvements and fixes. Exactly what I like to see in point releases.

+Fayad Fami: Broad question. Only missing thing IMO is library support for some applications. It's getting there, but ultimately you'd need to evaluate its use for your own projects.

+Douglas Stanley: Almost -- some other teams use it, but not ours [yet]. :)

Seeing all of the car2gos outside work is pretty funny.

What a weird age we live in where hundreds of cars across the country will simultaneously stop working because of a network error.

Trying out a new terminal setup. I've switched to zsh, am trying out Solarized, and giving Inconsolata a go.

If you want to try some of these for yourself, I keep my dotfiles on GitHub, so feel free to look around: https://github.com/jpeddicord/dotfiles

Went to Five Guys, saw Pacific Rim, and I got a rug. Good day.

Bought a Roku 3. It came with a nice generic power cable. It came with some headphones.

It did not come with an HDMI cable. Seriously?

Well.  How long of one would the average consumer have needed?  How would we define "average consumer" in this case?

Wha... what does this even mean? All I did was run an upgrade.

Software installer is broken in linux mint 15 too. It says installing but doesn't do anything. I am enjoying the dist-upgrade other than the kernel panics. Must install new kernel.

Re-did my personal website, keeping it simple. Also registered jmp.name; not sure if I want to do anything with it yet.

Claimed a custom URL I guess. Not that I had any choice in what it was. :|

I could not change mine, either.

As a note, it gave me the option of creating a custom url for our LUG, but it was Chicagolugorg (chicagolug.org), so I left it as-is. I felt pretty cool to get just regular "Jim Campbell," though.

TV (Sony Bravia) died on me tonight. Luckily, 3 days before the return window ends. This still makes me grumpy.

Samsung is also on my list that I avoid right now. Have a tv and a washer that both died within a month of each other...luckily both were still under warranty..

Southwest's in flight WiFi is behind a pay wall, but they seem to allow Google+, Play, Gmail, and general push traffic through. Not sure if intentional or an oversight, but I'll take advantage of it.

Hmm, nope, not DNS, and SSH doesn't go through. Oh well, Google Music does work and I'm fine with that.
