Despite rampant crime, slow economic growth, and a crisis in the mining sector, President Zuma says the country has not gone down. The numbers tell a different story.

Hi Guys

This message is all about Cecil, the Zimbabwean Lion that was brutally and illegally killed for sport. I include the complete AVAAZ plea together with informative links to support the call to action... please support the vote if you love Cats the way I do, thanks for those who vote.

"Dear friends

An American dentist has made headlines for brutally shooting down a gentle lion named Cecil.

But his despicable act has given us a fleeting opportunity to save the world’s lions.

Wealthy Americans and Europeans like him go to Africa and pay to hunt lions and other exotic animals for sport, and send their trophies home.

If all of us act right now we can get the US and Europe to ban the import of trophies when they threaten the survival of these majestic animals.

Some leaders are already considering it -- but to win, we need an unprecedented global outpouring of support. We can do it: 1.4% of the world’s internet users are getting this email -- if each of us signs and gets 1 other person to sign, we’d reach almost 3%. If each of us gets 3 people, that’s nearly 6%, etc etc.

Click to sign and share on Facebook, Twitter, email… everywhere... before the world forgets about Cecil:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/save_africas_lions_loc/?txEKYcb

Cecil was a beloved Zimbabwean lion, known for his stunning black mane and for being friendly to tourists and photographers.

The hunt that killed him lasted 40 hours and was brutal -- the hunters lured him out of his protected home, shot him, and let him suffer overnight. In the morning they killed him and illegally removed his tracking collar, then beheaded and skinned him for the trophy parts.

To make matters worse, as many as a dozen cubs are now at risk of infanticide at the hands of other lions, which is common when male lions are killed.

Zimbabwe and other countries won’t crack down on these crimes, or regulate hunting better, unless the hunting profits they make are threatened. So if the US and Europe simply ban trophy imports from countries who haven’t proven their hunting is sustainable, we can make sure lions survive on the planet.

It’s a no-brainer policy, and some EU leaders are already pushing for it, but it won’t pass unless there is an unprecedented global movement for it -- so if all of us sign and recruit our friends to sign by sharing all over the internet, we can win.

Click to sign and share now, before we miss this unique window Cecil sadly left open for us:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/save_africas_lions_loc/?txEKYcb

The Avaaz community has risen up and won amazing victories for our most threatened species - from whales to orangutans to bluefin tuna. Every time, it has been because we’ve come together at the exact moment of opportunity and seized it, believing a better, more sustainable world is possible. Let’s do it now for our lions.

With hope,

Mia, Rewan, Luis, Danny, Jooyea, Sobaika, and the whole Avaaz team

Plus minus 10 hours after the Blood Moon sighting in my area (@ 19h00 - 20h00) I took these progressive evening photos of the Full moon starting with a red shine, changing to yellowish shine.
The remarkable fact however, was the heart-shaped cloud slowly moving past the moon - beautiful - as if to confirm God's presence in all existence, to lay to rest fearful thoughts around the blood Moon phenomena

I absolutely love researching in fields of Human Origins, the Creationist theories, the Annunaki related history, so-called UFO phenomena and other conspiracy theories. My desire to research started in 1982 when my wife and myself experienced watching a huge UFO about merely 200 meters from us, on the ground. I will not elaborate any further on this incident, but suffice to say that such an experience creates a conundrum of conflicting emotions and questions which beg for answers...

I am also an Artist who loves to work in Oil and Pencil / charcoal. Used to do Nature, Animals, etc. My focus has shifted however, to Kalahari Bushmen and their lost art. I have become aware of their plight for survival a few years back as they are being pushed out of their natural habitat in the Kalahari, in favor of diamond mining. So, they basically have nowhere to go and through my art I want to make them more visible and put them in front of a wider audience.
I love Nature and all its elements and this kind of greed goes beyond my understanding.

My art is visible at: http://www.southafricanartists.com/showartist.asp?Code=VANLE001

I have studied photography and have a very keen interest therein. Love to photograph anything worth being in a picture. Will share photographs from time time.
Bragging rights
My love for Nature & Animals caused me to survive 3 deadly snake bites, as well as surviving nearly 2 dozen blood clots in my lungs after a double ankle fracture - It's a great gift just to be alive - appreciate life!
