Two ex-sheriff's deputies charged with planting evidence at pot dispensary

Los Angeles Times | April 23, 2014 | 11:26 AM

Two former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies face charges in connection with planting guns inside a medical marijuana dispensary to justify an arrest, prosecutors announced today.

The two allegedly justified two arrests by stating in a report they witnessed a narcotics transaction while on patrol in Westchester. Upon following the men inside the dispensary, the deputies claimed they found a discarded gun and illicit drugs, prosecutors said. However, video from within the store was inconsistent with those statements, they said.

The two were booked and released April 18 on $50,000 bail each.

Good thing I saw this live (or on PVR). :) Canadians can't watch SNL clips for some reason. Ironically, we can't view some Nickelback videos from the official Nickelback YouTube site and they're Canadian!

Aereo vs Major Television Broadcasters

U.S. Supreme Court case could change how you watch TV (two year legal battle between Aereo and major broadcasters). I'm really interested in what you think about this. Do you think scooping up and sharing the freely available signals of TV stations illegal?
Upstart Aereo says it has found a way to give consumers easier access to local broadcast TV for $8 a month. Broadcasters say Aereo is stealing copyrighted programs.

We’ve been helping Orange County victims of personal injury and wrongful death since 1986. Chances are, we can help you too.

Mitch and Lisa together with their Orange County based personal injury and wrongful death firm, Jackson and Wilson, Inc., are top “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell. The firm is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, an exclusive listing reserved for less than 5% of all distinguished law practices in the United States.

Several earlier partner recognitions include “2009 Orange County Trial Lawyer of the Year” (wrongful death case), "Southern California Super Lawyer", and an ability rating of 10.0 or Superb by the AVVO lawyer rating system.

We enjoy helping Orange County residents who have been harmed because of another person or company’s wrongful conduct. That’s why we became personal injury and wrongful death trial lawyers.  Over the past 25+ years, we’ve obtained numerous multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements for our clients.  We’re also multiple time members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (membership limited to those attorneys having obtained million dollar plus verdicts and settlements).

When not trying cases, we enjoy sharing trial practice tips and ethics with younger lawyers across the U.S.  We are also active with the local and national legal community via his active participation in the Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, and National Trial Lawyers Association.

Outside of the courtroom, Mitch and Lisa enjoy family, friends, and participating in Rotary, a community service organization.

We invite you to review our client testimonials, case results, and awards.  We also ask that you download and read our free ebook entitled, "The Truth About Your California Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Case".  In fact, make sure to read this 90+ page ebook before talking to a lawyer and before talking to an insurance company.
