Anyone seeing this error? Just claimed a Google Listing for a client and all I'm seeing is this "Save failed" notification for every field. Thanks.

Has anyone noticed these two changes to their Plus Profile page? I'm seeing total Views (and this applies for Local Listings, Brand Pages and Profile Pages) and my exact location (guess I have my tracker turned on right now) when I hover over the City.

Great presentation +Darren Shaw. There's definitely a lot of meat in this deck. I like how you outlined your processes with time estimates.

This is a neat. I've always wondered when a status would show up there. Good to see it will be populated with some useful information soon :)
Googler Jade Wang announced yesterday Google Places is rolling out new features to its bulk location management tool. According to the announcement, the new features will include a “Status” column that lets users know if a Map location is live, unverified, has errors, data conflicts, is a duplicate, or if it is pending review. The […]

Non-marketing related, but this brings back memories for when I used to play competitive badminton. However, never have I see a match where it's 3 vs 3. Quite entertaining!

Great post by +David Mihm. Your website is only one channel to attract new customers to your business, but others will do their research elsewhere. Every industry is different, so it's important to research and strategize how you'll tackle "Barnacle SEO".
Although I’d heard of “barnacle SEO” as a tactic at some of the early SEO conference networking events, the first real proponent of it in local search was Will Scott. I want to say that Will originally published this post on the now-defunct Local Search News in early 2008; but alas, the original has been […]

Sushi was good, but the service was terrible. We were a group of 10 and the staff were rude right from the get go. My girlfriend opted to order a la carte, while the rest of us were going to go with the all you can eat. She reminded her more than once that she can't eat any of the all you can eat sushi. The tone she used was just uncalled for. Not only that, but she came back to check on her every few minutes - it was disturbing. Their staff needs to be trained better at dealing with this.

Probably the best Gelato I've ever had. If you're big fan of mango, try their mango gelato it won't disappoint. Went there on a Thursday evening and it was quite busy so make sure you snatched a spot while there is one available.

My friends and I went for the 2 for 1 Fish n' Chips. Overall, the experience was OK. The fish batter was actually kind of chewy (you don't usually expect that for fish batter). We also had a bowl of their mussels, and they were mediocre also.

We had two specials: Fancy Pink Lady Mali and the Tataki Albacore Tuna and their Sashimi Starter. Overall the food was delicious! Everything was fresh and presented really nice. Likely the best sushi I've tried in Ottawa.

I head over to Kanata Noodle House for a bowl of pho/bun during work hours because it's literally 2 minutes from my office. The staff there is very welcoming and the service there is great. The food is very good too (I prefer the bun there more). Their spring rolls are jam packed with meat, so be sure to try some if you go!

My girlfriend and I ordered the Maritime Platter to share and from a food stand-point, it was terrible (glad we had a Groupon deal). Items on that platter were either too chewy or too salty. Bread was served cold to begin with. Knowing that we would be using our fingers, there was no bucket for our shells and no wet naps to wipe our hands after we were done. The server was helpful and nice. It's a shame she had hard products to sell to her customers. Would I recommend this restaurant to my friends - no.

This is my parents' favourite Vietnamese restaurant, and it's becoming one of my favourites as well. The food is delicious. Staff is friendly. Located away from the busiest part of chinatown. Great place to try if you haven't.
