Now I know why those "website apps" never work correctly.

Ain't that the truth. So frustrating. Half of the "native apps" out there are just terrible.

Fun metaphor for collaboration of trains and getting a collection of people all headed in the same direction together. And a short blog post by yours truly on the idea (http://blog.jackvinson.com/archives/2012/12/05/collaboration_and_its_opposite.html).  Can't help think of other ideas floating around about complexity and group dynamics.

Interesting piece of yours (though I admit to skimming it). Have you seen this? https://gfbertini.wordpress.com/2012/11/13/santa-fe-institutes-mooc-on-complex-systems-sciences/. Bet you've read Thomas stories more recently than a few decades, though!

Something that +Luis Suarez might want to read, given his comments at today's webinar on rewarding along peer channels AND hierarchical channels.

Nice discussion about the power of storytelling - taking it to the next stage of telling stories together, rather than having one storyteller / story-recounter.

A quote from +Clay Shirky ten years ago: "Prior to the Internet, the last technology that had any real effect on the way people sat down and talked together was the table. There was no technological mediation for group conversations. " in his paper / talk on "A Group Is Its Own Worst Enemy." http://www.shirky.com/writings/group_enemy.html

Always good to read this stuff from +Jim Benson - many ways to explain the benefits of limiting work-in-progress.
You, right now, are disrespecting your ability to create amazing things. You, right now, are doing more than you should, for more people than is optimal, and in an environment that is too distracting....
