Message From A Mom To Her Child:

I gave you life, but cannot live it for you.

I can give you directions, but I cannot be there to lead you.

I can buy you beautiful clothes, but I cannot make you beautiful inside.

I can give you love, but I cannot force it upon you.

I can teach you to share, but I cannot make you unselfish.

I can teach you respect, but I cannot force you to show honor.

I can advise you about friends, but cannot choose them for you.

I can advise you about sex, but I cannot keep you pure.

I can tell you about alcohol & drugs, but I cannot say "no" for you.

I can tell you about lofty goals, but I cannot achieve them for you.

I can teach you about kindness, but I cannot force you to be gracious.

I can tell you how to live, but I cannot give you eternal life.

I can love you with unconditional love all of my life....and I will.

Message From A Dad To His Child: I brought you into this world and I can take you out! Makes no difference to me 'cause I'll make another that looks just like you. (credit: Bill Cosby)
Grat message - but we need to remeber that the same should be said for the father - unfortunately to often fathers forget about their duties toward children...
whaou so funny , do not cry boy God are next to you
What an excellent post! And what a powerful picture! Let me just ad these words which i found to be very true through my own experiences:

Children don't do what you tell them to do, children do what they watch you do.
"""Message From A Mom To Her Child:"""...So beautifully written feelings.....Nice post...
boy do i go along with that. i was shocked to see a 5 year old pocking himself in the eye. i have a bad habit of using my finger to push up loose fitting glases. I made the conection watching film clips we had made. imitation you got to be carefull. in this case no harm done.
+Kent Oldhøj I just love this: Thank you!
Children don't do what you tell them to do, children do what they watch you do.
awww thank you! ;-)

+Jaana Nyström you probably know that we who don't have english as our native language are sometimes misunderstood.

Often, knowing what language people originate from can help avoid that. I know where you are from but i have seen you comment in both finnish and swedish, so i was just wandering... what language do you usually use when you think?
+Kent Oldhøj Finnish: And it's very true what you say, as sometimes I just translate into other languages without thinking. Then the fat is in the fire if my good intentions are not understood correctly... :-)
That's what i do, and it often happens to me. Especially when the debate heats up and i just type while my emotions are boiling.

fat is in the fire hehe. "Shit hits the fan" is probably the right phrase in english.

Good intentions.... YAY! I always look for good intentions.
+Kent Oldhøj The fat thing is British and the shit thing is American colloquialism... :D
How about that?
Yes, it's extraordinary touching - and true
