Had our crawlspace encapsulated and two sump pumps installed to deal with a severe moisture issue about a year ago. The job was completed professionally and a day ahead of schedule. The quality of materials and the pumps used were top shelf. We had some major flooding two weeks before Matthew got here, and the crawlspace stayed dry! Matthew was a different story. Our house got completely surrounded by water up to about 6" below the old crawlspace vents. The water finally breached the crawlspace when it got high enough to get through the outside air handler duct work. Not JES' fault at all. When the water finally dropped below the ductwork, the two pumps made short work of the 8" deep water filling the crawlspace. The crawlspace was pumped out long before the water surrounding the house was gone. Three days after the fact, I removed a little water from a couple low spots on the liner, but all in all, I was astounded two things: 1. How long the system held back the floodwater until breaching the ductwork. 2. How FAST it got rid of the water once the the flood receded. WELL DONE JES!!! Money WELL spent!

After waiting a year for another contractor to do the work, we finally persuaded the owner to jump ship & go to JES. So glad we did. In less than one week a very professional job was completed. Communication was great. My elderly mother is no longer able to live in the home she loved, so it was much appreciated that the salesman would go out of his way to explain everything to her & assist her in understanding what was being done to her home. Have used them twice now and will most likely use them in the future.

I’ve been a JES customer since July 2008. After 27 years of hiring and dealing with various home repair and improvement companies, JES stands out in a good way. In 2008, we received a report from our home inspector: high moisture in our crawl space that was rotting some floor joists. The engineer warned me it would be an expensive fix, but it should be done before the damage got worse. That’s when I called JES. They installed a CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System and reinforced the bad joists. In July 2011, we added a Sani-Dry dehumidifier and an Everlast door to the crawl space. In July 2016, during the annual inspection, the JES inspector told me the dehumidifier was dead and needed to be replaced and that it was out of warranty. But, the Sani-Dry dehumidifier had a warranty of 4 to 5 years (depending on the part). I still had the paperwork to prove it. I had 4 days left!! I got on the phone with George Frates, absolutely convinced that he would give me the runaround like so many companies have before. George explained to me that the warranty was actually 4 to 5 years from the date JES purchased the unit, not the install date. So, the unit was indeed out of warranty according to the manufacturer. Here’s the amazing part. Even though the unit was out of warranty according to the manufacturer, George understood my point of view and proceeded to honor the warranty from JES’s end by swapping out my broken dehumidifier with a rebuilt one (and a newer model since they don’t make mine anymore) at no cost to me at all. JES even widened the crawl space door for better access for the dehumidifier and it was at no cost to me (again, honoring their warranty). I’m so glad that I found JES. It’s rare to find a company made of knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful people who consistently treat the customer fairly.

An impressive project experience start to finish! JES performed a nine (09) Push-Pier stabilization project on our North Carolina home in May 2016. The project was supplemented by installation of four (04) Smart Jacks under the failing end of the home, and an extensive crawlspace drainage system to keep the rising water table out. Our Project Manager assumed complete ownership and accountability to the job. He continues to serve as my single- customer point of contact to JES, and even though our project is complete, I can call him anytime. As far as the actual installation itself, there is nothing easy about this work. I shadowed both teams for the 3 day job, and the process is backbreaking and difficult. The crews are all about business, but they respect the home and clean as they go. When they wrapped up on day 3, everything was clean, back in its place, and I couldn't even tell they were there. I commend JES for living out the reputation they portray on TV. My home is stable and I am a convinced customer who will not hesitate to call on them again if needed. Matt Moyer

As a 30+ year homeowner in Virginia Beach, I've hired many repair and maintenance personnel to work in and around my home. I've had the privilege of having the best tradesmen complete work for me...however I must say it was awesome to experience the JES team who worked seamlessly together to get the job done! From the initial contact, to the estimator, the workmen, the supervisor, the inspector to the general manager I was shown complete respect for my questions, concerns, home, property and family. EVERYONE I encountered in person or on the phone was courteous, professional yet friendly...and made me feel that my job was the most important job of the day! The work was done when scheduled, completed ahead of schedule, with minimal interruption to my schedule. Thank you JES and the entire team for a job well done...I definitely recommend the whole JES team!!

I called JES because I have the following issues in my house: Drywall cracks; uneven, squeaky floors (both upstairs and down); nails popping out of drywall; Doors that stick and windows that no longer close at the top and will not open at the bottom; a wall that is twisting; and a crack across our entry way/dining room floor. All of these things they advertise that they specialize in. When they came, they inspected and said the crawl space was too damp and sold us a very, very expensive plastic/foam wrapping and a dehumidifier that runs 24/7 and has significantly increased our electric bill. We still have all of the issues above. When I asked them what to do about them I was told to putty and paint the cracks, re-nail the floors and replace our windows. Nothing to address what was causing the issues.

Fantastic installation experience from initial visit to final install. No pushy sales and a competitive price. Matthew struck and we were literally surrounded by 2 to 4 inches of water but our crawlspace was dry!! Neighbors around us without encapsulating (JES and others) were digging out old silt, wet insulation and hiring people to dry out their crawlspace. Money well invested in my opinion.

We are in the process of selling our home and the interested buyers did not want to put an offer on the table until we had JES come out and inspect some slopping floors (turns out it was due to settling and was a fairly easy repair that would run about $4100). Michael came out, right on time and did a very thorough inspection and even agreed to contact the buyers agent to explain what he found in case there were any questions. He was very polite, friendly, and professional. I always recommend JES to anyone having crawl space/foundation issues. (Oh, almost forgot to mention. we had our crawl space completely redone and encapsulated by JES a few years ago. we are very satisfied!!!)
