Part One: What does cold, wet weather do to my home?
The impact of cold, wet weather on your home is something you probably take for granted. Houses have to deal with the weather in very different ways than we do. We can get out of the snow, adjust the temperature, dry off and cuddle under a blanket. A home h...

The JES FROM VIRGINIA BEACH gave me a price for 60 pilings to hold up the largest slab they ever worked on. It was very expensive though. After negotiating, we settled on a better price and we went with 66 pilings. They were concerned about the walls that are temporary and only have one row of cement block on them. But I was concerned about the two cars that rest on the slab that we use as our garage. The cars are much heavier than a temporary wall. So my husband and I marked where our car tires went for several days. Every time, we parked within only inches from where we marked where the tires were on the cement floor. When the manager of the project showed up he marked where the pilings would go and we discussed our concern about the weight of the cars. He assured me that where he marked would be sufficient in holding up the cars and walls and said that the cement would hold where he marked where the men would put the pilings. He also showed up when the men drilled the holes and he was very nice and sociable. The men installed the pilings near the marks that the man marked. I was concerned then that the markings and pilings that they did were several feet away from where the tire markings were. But the man reassured me that where he marked would do the job. The work was done on time and looked professional and did hold up the concrete block and temporary walls. Only a hairline crack came up on the right most corner in the front of the whole slab. However, while my husband and I were cleaning the slab and painting the slab to cover up all the hole marks, we noticed the cracks that were never there in the slab area around where our cars are parked. They are small cracks but we are not even one year from when the job was finished and we are very concerned. We live on the bay and have many bad storms where water can come over the bulkhead. We are not here in the wintertime and the left garage did not have any weight on it at all the entire winter and has many cracks where my husbands Highlander is parked. We have only been here for 2 months We called JES and Ryan Bernard said in an email that he is not concerned and would come up. He showed up yesterday and said it would cost us $2500 for them to put a solution that would turn hard to hold up the slab. I remember that when we were talking before and even the day of the construction that this fluid was going to be included. But Ryan said that this fluid is extra and would have had to be paid for anyway. We believe that if the pilings were installed where we wanted them, the cracks would not have appeared and we are very concerned that we will be getting many more cracks in the future. WE ARE NOT A HAPPY CAMPER.

JES did an addition for us. Would not use them again. The people they used did poor work (drywall/painter was horrible). The person overseeing the job was never around. Contract was not followed. Everything was supposed to be paint ready but was not. HVAC person did not seem to know what he was doing. Electrician dug up the lawn and said he would come back and fill it in but never did. 2-3 weeks job took over 2 months to semi-completion. Never knew what days or times people were going to show up (or not show up).

Charles -- April 22, 2012 Excellent work. From the salesman coming to the house to review our structural situation, to the office manager's pleasant flexibility with the scheduling and the need to change that schedule, to the HARD WORK done by the installation crew, every step of the process built our confidence in JES’ ability to solve our foundation problem in a timely and PROFESSIONAL manner. We could not be more satisfied with the outcome; it was a sound investment for us.

JES is the leader in their field. I knew their system was what I needed for crawlspace moisture control after nearly a year of research. What sold me wasn't their system, however. Ian Carleo, their sales representative, listens to needs and matches a one for one solution to the issues at hand. He didn't try to sell me "fries with that" or anything else unnecessary. In fact, he even talked me out of something I was considering, which would have made the sale bigger. This built trust, and I appreciated it more than he may realize. He provided me with all the "before" pictures and wasn't high-pressure while I made my decision. Ian was the reason I signed on the same day of the estimate. I rarely recommend salespeople, especially being in sales myself, since it's rare to find someone that is more interested in my needs than making the sale. Ian is that guy. And just as good is the JES team the followed. The scheduled date was like clockwork, and the crews very clean and respectful. The work was performed promptly and to an outstanding degree of my personal satisfaction. Ian followed with a visit to shoot "after" pictures and provide moisture control readings once the dehumidifier had been working for a few weeks in the new cleanspace environment. I would recommend this product and company to anyone looking to protect their property investment, and if you can, request Ian to work with you. Kudos, JES, for making me an enthusiastic customer!!! Updated Post Work Completion: Todd completed the sales process and had an initial error on the design since the assumed position of the floor joists were wrong, but corrected upon Ray's team arriving and properly assessing the location that the foundation should be repaired. Work: There were times where Russ was not communicated to (by one field team) that work was incomplete. I requested only one team to work on job site and to inform me if someone would not be coming for the day (previous crew did not show up for a day and management did not inform me of the lack of staffing for the day). Ray's team completed the work successfully. One main drawback is job required a lot of oversight. Job was successfully completed.

JES came to my home to address large cracks in the brick and drywall, the inspector was great and really knew his stuff, the crew was able to fix the problem in 2 days and i'm confident it is fixed for good. Thanks Joanne Va Beach
