First off, from the beginning Gillman Subaru San Antonio put their best foot forward. I have been looking at a new WRX STi Limited for 8 months. I'm not the fastest buyer, because I do a ton of research and review reading and want to make sure it's a right fit for me. I live an hour away but had to go to San Antonio so figured I'd stop in. When I got there Jim Montemayor greeted me with a big smile and a laid back attitude. He asked me if I was there for someone or if I had questions on anything. I struck up a conversation about what I was looking for and such. I told him I wasn't buying that day but had some questions and wanted to look at a vehicle. He was patient and very informative. We went out and looked at the vehicle, I didn't want to test drive that day so he just answered any and all my questions. I called in to the dealership Monday morning to talk to Jim. I told him I wanted to know if the car I looked at the previous week was there. He said he would check. I told him no hurry and gave him all my info. Jim got back with me rather quickly stating they did have it. Although he was currently engaged with another client, he still returned any questions I had in a reasonable time considering he was busy. Jim never was pushy on the vehicle, nor did he put any pressure. It felt like he wouldn't get "butt hurt", my words not his, if I didn't get the vehicle, but just wanted to make sure we understood the car and wanted to answer any questions we had. I LOVE THAT! The best customer service oriented sale guy in my years of buying vehicles. I told him I would be there later that day. I showed up around 3pm and met Jim and ask to look at the vehicle and go for a test drive. He didn't hesitate. As everyone would guess I got the car. The great thing about everyone involved with the process is that they were all good folks with great attitudes, and I didn't finance through them or anything. I got a great deal and they treated me awesome! I dealt with Samantha the follow through sales person, I guess that is what you call her I can't remember. Anyways she was super great and patient and very nice with us. Then we were passed on to Chris their delivery specialist. He sat with us to make sure we understood all the functions of the vehicle, inside and out. He didn't wanted us driving off with questions. BUT just in case asked to schedule a two week follow-up in case we had other questions later. We agreed and set it up. Chris was great explaining things to my wife and I about the STi. Our finance guy, Armano I think?? Sorry I can't remember because I'm terrible with names. He was AWESOME! Usually finance is the worst part of a dealership. Quite the opposite here. He was totally fine with me writing a check and not going through the dealer or anyone else. A lot of other places get all pissy when they don't make the extra bucks. That DID NOT happen here. He seemed to be having as good of a time as someone on their day off. Really laid back and chill. He joked with us and shared funny stories. All in all, I felt kind of weird being there as I felt like I was part of a family. That is a good feeling. I'm middle aged and have bought a lot of cars in my time and NEVER have I received better treatment as I did at Gillman Subaru in San Antonio. If there were more than 5 stars, I'd give it!!! Thanks everyone at the dealership, you made purchasing a vehicle painless and pretty fun! I look forward to doing more business there in the future!

***EDIT*** I used to give this dealership a 5 star, but now I think it's more of 3 stars. When the dealership first opened it was great. Now that has been there a while the newness has rubbed off and I think they have gone down hill. The parts counter takes FOREVER to get help from. I watched the two guys on their cell phones doing Facebook while I stood there. Now the last time I went in for a part, about a week ago the parts department was WAY better than it used to be. I hope that spreads to the rest of the dealership. The service department is slow and they never follow up on things their service advisers say. I had to go to another dealer to get something fixed that they couldn't but yet still was charged a service fee from LPT. I'm not 100% sure but I think they've went through different mangers, but have the same owner because I see him there from time to time and he does seem like a good guy and cares. The bad part is he has zero people that work for him that have any solid leadership, loyalty, or customer service. The last few times I did stop to try to get a part, I was swamped by sales guys. I HATE when dealerships have all their sales folks hanging outside the front door waiting to pounce you. I have received phone calls asking to rate the service provided and questions like they care. Each time I tell them and it seems they don't care because no action is taken to correct the issues. I now go to a dealership that is further away but it better in my opinion. Yes the dealership itself is top notch facility, but in my opinion it stops there.

Unfortunately I had to get my truck worked on due to folks crashing into me a few different times. With that sad, I am glad I found Capital City Collision a few years ago when they were still on Congress. Even though they have moved, they still exceeded everything they said they would do and then some. Joe and Matt are some of the most easy going, laid back, kind of guys. You can tell, no matter how bad your situation was, they just want to make you feel better by knowing and understanding the quality care that they will provide your vehicle. Yeah, that sounds like I described a Dr and a patient, but that is how they treat it. They know your vehicle means a lot and pretty much is a necessity and time is essential. Keeping you up to date with all repairs and calls made to insurances companies to make sure that they cover the proper parts is like a hot knife cutting through butter for these guys. If you decided, which in my opinion you should, to use Capital City Collision you will not regret it!
