This hole was filled up to the rim with lava just three weeks ago. Dammit.

I'm very very close to having the initial pass at the combat system complete. So far it only features Beam Lasers as weapons and ships cannot surrender yet. However, combat is being completed and the delayed messages are bein...

Another very fun game of Castles of Mad King Ludwig tonight with four players. I won by about 10 points  by scoring about 20 points with my secret bonus cards. This game is seriously a ton of fun and is in contention with Colt Express to be my favorite game of 2014.

I like Istanbul a lot, but these two games are seriously fun.

One of my favorite souvenirs from our trip is this piece of lava from the huge lava field between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa that we drove through on Saddle Road on the way to Hilo. This piece shows two different textures in one rock.

What's with all the spam adds for people following me on G+ lately? Someone must have put out a guidebook about building up your circles for money or something.

Weird that this is happening in Nashville over anywhere else.

Played the new board game Castles of Mad King Ludwig tonight for the first time with Bob Trezise and Jules. This was my final castle with which I scored 96 points. Bob won the game with 104 points and Jules had 95, so it was pretty close.

I can tell even from this first play that the game is a ton of fun. It shares some similar mechanics and scoring with Suburbia, but is definitely a different game.

Had to show the boy who the King of Tokyo was last night. Burrowing Buttkraken for the win!

Very friendly and helpful. Great local shop and I'm glad to support them.

The service was great and the wait staff were very friendly. The drinks were good. Try the Chicago Donkey. The restaurant itself is extremely loud so it's difficult to have any conversations with people at the same table with you. The food takes a long time to come out. I understand deep dish pizza takes longer, but a thin crust pie shouldn't take 30 minutes or more. It's also very expensive and honestly the food didn't have a lot of flavor. The tomato sauce was bland and tasted just like tomato paste out of a can. We got three bar drinks, an order of cheese sticks and two pizzas and it ended up being over $70 after the tip. I didn't feel like I got my money's worth at all.

I've had the chicken before but last night was my first time to show up to the premises and order. I got the large tenders basket X-Hot with potato salad and collard greens. After being dutifully warned about the spiciness by the cashier I accepted the risk and sat in the truck until they sent me a text message that the food was ready. The chicken was plenty hot for me and the potato salad was excellent. The collard greens were OK, but I prefer them to be cooked a little harder than that. I'll try a different side next time. I'll definitely be stopping by here more often in the future.

One of the worst Subway restaurants in town. Poorly run. Always out of bread and other ingredients but have plenty of excuses.

As of this writing, I think Jack's Bar-B-Que on Trinity Lane is the best overall BBQ joint in Nashville. Other places do certain things better, but Jack's has pretty much the whole package. The ribs are the best in town and so is the brisket. I also like the sausage links. The other two locations are fine, but the one on Trinity is just better for some reason, especially the ribs. Did I mention how good the ribs are?
