Check out what one patron had to say about Ixtapa:
5.0 star rating 7/6/2015
Best meal I've had since I've been in Kansas. It took about 30 minutes for take out but it was worth the wait. I ordered prawns with zucchini corn and peppers in a white creamy wine sauce. Sooo freaking good! Oh the Flan was delicious as well. If only I was staying one more day.

We appreciate all of our feedback and hope you join us this weekend at Ixtapa - It's going to be warm, great weekend for a nice, delicate white fish or shrimp!

It's going to be a beautiful weekend - Father's Day is Sunday and it's also the official first day of Summer! Our featured item this wonderful weekend is Pescado Empapelado: fFesh white fish marinated with butter, olive oil, lime and fresh ground pepper surrounded by fresh vegetables then wrapped in foil and grilled to seal in the juices. #14.99 all weekend. Perfecto!

By Katie Lange DoD News, Defense Media Activity. The Fourth of July makes us think of a lot of things: Barbeques. Parades. Fireworks. Lots of red, white and blue. Will Smith's movie “Independence Day.” Oh yeah, and the freedom that our founding fathers declared to the world 239 years ago.

Americans love Mexican food! We of course are more traditional and authentic here, but there is really something for everyone!

Great food. Even better stories if you catch the owner and get him talking about authentic Mexican food. Want to make it a night to remember? Let him do the ordering for you.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Thank you so much for the feedback. Yes - I like to order for my customers- especially if they get me talking as I am passionate about my food. (And I'm not shy). Glad you enjoyed your experience with us and hope you will be joining us again soon.

When the menu says best tacos you will ever have, you can trust it. (You can probably share the #21 between two people). Do your date and yourself a flavorful favor and order the Queso fundido appetizer. Pair those two mouth watering items with a Dos Equis beer....or three and you will come to this place frequently. Be like me, go here and tell everyone how great it is.. But not to many people as this place is small and crowds up fast ;) . Ixtapa in my eyes is the diamond in the rough restaurant in the Northland area.

Off day? Ordered two tacos from the lunch menu. Cold! Beans and rice. Cold! Two other orders at the table not what was ordered. The hardest worker in the place is the microwave. One in our group had the polo diabla #45 on the menu and said it was very good... so 1 out of 4 enjoyed.

Excellent food! Unique! The owner is awesome. He took our menus away, asked a few questions, and brought us each a different dish and they were all amazing! It's not often the owner engages the patrons, shares his passion and entertains!

Thank you for your review! So glad you like the food and the owner - we definitely have a passion for good food here! Come back soon.

This is my families favorite Mexican restaurant. We love food made with simple ingredients that burst with flavor. For this I recommend the Tacos Chidos or the Pork Enchiladas. I have tried other things on the menu and I will admit, I did not care for them. They have many items with complex sauces, that I personally do not like. The staff is very friendly and helpful and can personalize the experience for you. Study the menu and choose food you like and you will be pleased. This is not just another restaurant that serves meat, beans and cheese in 30 different ways. Find something you love and you'll want to go back!

Best I can describe is having a pot of something and plopping a dollop on a plate and calling it good. Garnish was a piece of black wilted lettuce and the salsa was very disappointing, not at all authentic.

Great little place. My wife and I ate there today and I'm not normally the type to write reviews, I rarely have the time yet I felt that this place deserved another review. I ordered the Pollo Adobado (chicken with achiote sauce, beans and rice), my wife ordered the Tacos Tapatios (chicken) and to start we had the Queso Fundido. Everything was delicious. The tacos were among the best I've ever had and the best my wife has ever had. The Pollo Adobado was delicious, and the servers were both attentive and accommodating.
