“I’m looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love” said ones Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw. I couldn’t stop thinking about that quote while photographing Karine and Wim on that early morning in Paris. They are nice, easy going and they honestly look amazing together :) Visiting the city of love is always a great adventure, one that I always gladly embark on. This time our adventure started early at night, with a three hour ride that brought us in front of the Eiffel tower just in time for the incredible sunrise. Looking at the sun slowly climbing over the sleeping city and walking around the empty streets is a treat for one’s soul, a treat everybody should enjoy at least ones in their life! Thank you Karine and Wim for making this ordinary Saturday over the top extraordinary :)

Can’t wait to photograph your wedding in Brazil in a few months! Enjoy this one, more images coming soon!

Rob writes movie scripts, Giulia sells movies and I happen to buy them. It was a love of first Skype :) Giulia and Rob flew all the way from sunny California to get married in the unusually sunny Brussels this week.
People often ask me what makes a wedding great. Is it the location? Or a good looking couple? Great friends? Pick any of this things and you will have a nice wedding, but if I have to pick one single “thing” that makes a wedding truly great, without a doubt it would be the great energy given off by a bunch of happy people :) I can't wait to blog this one!

My favourite thing about documenting a wedding is watching friends and family come together to celebrate the union of two people madly in love :) I had a blast shooting Jessica and Olivier’s wedding yesterday. And how couldn’t I? The weather was perfect, everybody was happy, Jessica and Olivier looked stunning! And also how often do I have the opportunity to make bride and groom portraits inside of a giant balloon ;) Jessica and Olivier aren’t just incredibly nice, they’re absolutely hilarious. I spend most of this day photographing through laughter from their romantic and passionate ceremony in front of the amazing Kasteel Gravenhof well into the night for their awesome party.

On va s’aimer, On va danser, C’est la vie lalalalala :) Enjoy this one, more to come soon!

A fun, gorgeous couple? Great weather? Check and check! I had another epic adventure this Saturday. It was time for Eva and Joachim’s engagement session. And we did it in … wait for it … Sahara :)
They’re the sort of people who are so nice that they make you smile simply when you are around them. The whole session was a mixture of tree climbing, horse riding, cuddling in the sand and cooling down in the lake. This is what an engagement session should be – it’s all about connection between loved ones, the way they look at each other and make each other laugh.
We started the day in a place that looked as if taken from the “The Blair Witch Project” and finished it over dinner, when they taught me a new word :) Goesting – turns out the most beautiful Flemish word. It was a day to remember.

… and one more thing, walking with high heels on the sand – not an easy task :)

Shawna and Kevin’s first email to me found me skiing at 3200 meters on the glacier over the french village of “Le deux Alpes”. I remember my heart skipping a beat when I read the email. I suddenly forgot about the blistering cold and the howling wind – they wanted me to photograph their wedding in Stonehenge! And not just a normal ceremony – a modern take on an old druid hand-fasting wedding ceremony! And here we are a few month’s later standing alone in the middle of the thousand’s year old stone circle. And the light!!! The rain had just stopped and we got to enjoy a heart stopping sunset and the rise of the moon at the same time. It’s hard for me to describe all thoughts rushing trough my mind. Watching the priest and the priestess perform the ceremony left me with the feeling I was transported thousands of years back in time. And yet there I was with my camera in my hands documenting Shawna and Kevin exchanging their vows and breaking bread under the last light of the day. One location to scratch from my list of great locations where to shoot weddings :) Thank you guys for making me part of this adventure!
