Nice recap of +Google I/O - 2014 developer conference summary, I quote +Marin Marić "So Google will now be able to read your emails, track your usage and searches on any device, and in any application. Track your movement, behaviour, preferences, health status, state, habits, needs, wishes, etc. and regardless if you are home, walking, car, office, watching TV, etc. The choice of Features vs Privacy has never been so visible."

Google I/O - 2014 developer conference summary:

Material Design is Google's new visual look (new design language) for Android, Chrome OS and the web
Android L - Google showed a sneak peak of the new version of Android coming this fall (L works for mobile phones, TVs, cars, TVs, etc)
Google Fit -  exercise and health tracking. A set of APIs lets app feed data into a centralized fitness stream.
♦ More advanced search within apps
♦ Google launches new smartwatch and other Android Wear product. Shows off third-party apps.
Android Auto is coming end of year
♦ Announces Android TV -  software that runs on your TV or third-party set-top box. Android TV will be in Sony, Sharp and Philips TVs next year.
Chromecast updates - it can mirror your Android device's screen, stream content from anywhere instead of needing to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides update. - Finally able to edit Microsoft Office files natively without conversion. Google finally has a true Office competitor for mobile? Google announces Drive for Work with unlimited storage at $10 a month.
Android for Work can  keep your work and personal lives separate on one device
♦ Android logo gets a new look

So Google will now be able to read your emails, track your usage and searches on any device, and in any application. Track your movement, behaviour, preferences, health status, state, habits, needs, wishes, etc. and regardless if you are home, walking, car, office, watching TV, etc. The choice of Features vs Privacy has never been so visible.

"He (Larry Page) pointed to health care, where regulations make collecting and analyzing data very difficult, even if that data is analyzed anonymously. “Right now we don’t data-mine health care data. If we did we’d probably save 100,000 lives next year,” he said"

[TRAVEL BLOG POST] Getting lost in translation on our way to Sukhothai was much better than getting lost (without the translation part).  #travelblog   #nacestiopet   #travel

A small thing for mankind but big one for digital marketeers

Universal Analytics is Out of Beta  AND supports all standard Google Analytics features.

- Remarketing with Google Analytics
- Audience reporting
- Cross device measurement (User ID)
- Google Tag Manager support
- Device Overlap
- Device Paths - like Multi-Channel Funnels report, but for devices

Do you need to migrate to Universal Analytics?
No, at least for now. Although, I highly suggest you start planning to migrate.

[BLOG POST] Exploring Bangkok's nightlife and religious buildings while staying at the art deco hotel from the 50s where sex tourists are anything but welcome was fantastic experience. Here are the highlights.

http://bit.ly/1iopwGH

#travelblog   #bangkok   #nacestiopet

Google is rolling out an update to +Google Analytics Universal that will finaly combine app and desktop users analasys in one report #analytics #multidevice

Understanding User Behavior in a Multi-Device World

In this constantly connected world, users can interact with your business across many digital touchpoints: websites, mobile apps, web apps, and other digital devices. So to help you understand what users do in the increasingly diverse digital landscape, we’re enabling you to view web and app data from the same reporting view. This will be rolling out to all accounts over the next week.

Analyze app and web data in the same reporting view
Any data you send to the same property appears in all of the reporting views, regardless of how you collected that data. This means that if you send data from the web or from a mobile app to one property, both data sets appear in your reports.

If you want to isolate data from one source, like if you only want to see web data in your reports, you can set up a filter to customize what you see. You can also use other tools to isolate each data set, including customizations in standard reports, dashboards, custom reports, and secondary dimensions.

Measure web apps
We’ve also added some new app-specific fields to the analytics.js JavaScript web collection library, including screen name, app name, app version, and exception tracking. These changes allow the JavaScript tracking code to take advantage of the app tracking framework, so you can more accurately collect data on your web apps.

How these changes affect you
This product change can affect you in different ways, based on how your account is set up and what kind of data you collect and send to Google Analytics.

The Visitors web metric and Active Users app metric are now unified under the same name, Users. And, Visits are now referred to as Sessions everywhere in all of Google Analytics. We’ll be making these changes starting today, and rolling them out incrementally over the next week.

If you collect and send both web and app hits to one property in your Google Analytics account, all your hits will appear in all your reporting views starting today. If you want to keep your web and app data separate, you need to add a filter to your reporting views.

If you don’t send web and app data to the same property in your account, your data stays the same.

Everyone, however,  will see the unified metric, dimension, and segment names in their reports.

Until today, some metrics and dimensions used different names in app views and in web views, even though they presented the exact same data. Now, all metric, dimensions, and segment names are the same, regardless if they’re used for web or app data. This gives you a clear and consistent way to analyze and refer to all of your Google Analytics data.

Our developer site has more information on these changes:

[TRAVEL BLOG POST] Following 3 hectic days in Bangkok we decided to take the train to Kanchanaburi and cross the bridge on the river Kwai. Everything else was a bonus  #nacestiopet   #travel  #blogpost #thailand #kanchanaburi   #bridgeontheriverkwai

http://bit.ly/1lwBlQl

Always ONline digital marketing guy, amateur photographer, passionate about web, social media, mobile and geolocation. Enjoys indie music, football, people, life
Introduction
I've always wondered how can I use technology to help others and myself, both in business and personal life.

Ever since the early days of world wide wab back in 90s I fell in love with everything digital. I started testing every new gadget, online service, innovation I could get my hands on. Upon graduating from high school I co-founded my own company, Logit internet usluge in 2001. focusing on email marketing, internet marketing and web design. During that time I took interest in journalism so I started writing a lot focusing on new technologies and services, mobile and gaming respectively.

The next step for me was joining Agrokor at New Technologies Department followed by Tisak in Research and Development department where I was able to further expand my knowledge and gain valuable experience. I was able to work on many challenging projects focusing on implementation of new technologies and services in retail.

Although I never actually left I returned to Agrokor as head of Digital Marketing Department in 2010. This was a great opportunity for me mostly because I was able to do what I like the most at the largest private company in Croatia.

The areas of my latest interests are primary geolocation marketing (Foursquare, ect.), mobile marketing and new and evolving niche social networks such as Untappd, Foodspotting ect.

I am passionate about sports, football (soccer) mostly, music and really like to travel wherever I can. My trusty camera is always with me. I take Photos wherever and whenever I can.
Bragging rights
Geolocation services (Foursquare) and mobile marketing is something I can talk about for ages, I am always open for a coffe or a hang-out. If you're not into it we can talk photography and music as well.
