Things are still on hold until the site is cleared for a return of staff. However all the observatory buildings are still standing, a light coating of ash has been removed and the microwave link antenna replaced.

If you would like to assist the ANU Appeal that will directly assist astronomers who have lost their homes in the valley below:- http://philanthropy.anu.edu.au/philanthropy/donate-online/search/?cause=anu-siding-spring-observatory-fire-staff-emergency-relief-fund

2015 continues to be an exciting year for space exploration. The European Space Agency's (ESA) Rosetta spacecraft is in the process of escorting comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko -- the Rubber Ducky comet -- to its close encounter with the sun. Are you an amateur astronomer?

The Siding Spring site came under direct threat from bushfire today. The site was evacuated and all seems to be ok at this stage as we still have power and the Observatory seems to be ok from all our remote sensing devices.
