For this interested in ancient Greece and Hellenestic culture this ancient subterranean basilica is a treasure trove into the past. Just opened to the public for the first time in 2000 years it is full of frescoes, bas-relief, arches, all depicting an ancient cult dating back to the first century B.C. It was built by a rich Roman family who were devotees of a little-known cult called Neopythagoreanism.
