ISOCS Grade 4,5 impressed invited the families and guests with their summary of how they conducted a trial "PYP Exhibition" to consolidate  the process research, action presentation and reflection that is required to this exciting PYP Rite of Passage in May.

Students presented their mini week long Exhibition with the Central Idea "Our Voice is an important form of expression to communicate different ideas, emotions and feelings" with Inquiries into:
- Voices bring people together
- Using voice, people express their identity
- Voice is a verbal history

Our awesome students took us through the process of research and collaboration to show how they ended up deciding to express their feelings in an action song about ISOCS! We were all very moved!

Check out their text...we look forward to recording a live rendition! (International School of Central Switzerland in Cham, Zug)

Grade K,1 shared a very interactive presentation on their learning about their Unit of Inquiry "Water for Life". Families and  guests learned about the Water Cycle and to help us remember scientific vocabulary we were all encouraged to join in singing and dancing with the Water Cycle Boogie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWgpwldu8QU
Later families and friends  enjoyed looking at the students work in their personal portfolios and on the walls of the classroom (International School of Central Switzerland in Cham, Zug)

ISOCS - Peace One Day 2014. Grade 8/9 students from the International School of Central Switzerland created the attached Youtube video to answer questions about what peace means to them in order to create awareness about Peace One Day on 21st September 2014.

ISOCS students put a lot of effort into a series of activities to raise awareness around school and out in the community over the past two weeks - the most visible piece is the art banner display in the windows on the front of the school using all our students’ artwork to spell out Peace One Day.

The ISOCS Mosaic was a unique opportunity for our Grades 2 and 3

The second and third grade class at the International School of Central Switzerland (ISOCS) in Cham have been busy creating their own mosaic masterpiece.

For a number of weeks now the children have been involved in creating a wall mosaic for the school. On Tuesday 24th June we had the grand unveiling.

The mosaic theme is, “Our International World” and it consists of a centre piece flanked by eight sections. Each of the outer sections reflects an international aspect such as: Technology, Family, Food, the Arts, Water, Flora, Fauna and Education.

The ISOCS children were involved with both the planning and the tile laying. They thought of what each section should reflect and then drew pictures to match.

The tiles were then carefully glued to a net fastened above the drawings.

As the class had just learned all about recycling an effort was made to obtain leftover tiles from local companies.

A project of this size and complexity could not have been completed without an expert. The children at ISOCS were very fortunate to have Ms. Silvia Iencinella and her husband Mr. Stefano Toria oversee the whole project. Ms. Iencinella is an internationally reputed artist who works out of her studio in Knonau. http://www.musivarte.it/

The second and third graders have been very enthusiastic about the mosaic and have loved participating in this unique learning opportunity.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who supported this incredible project that will be valued and cherished by the whole school and our visitors for many years to come.
