GUIDELINES FOR USING THE GOOGLE+ iscd STUDENT COMMUNITY

We can't believe that we are already halfway through the year! We thought it would be beneficial to our student community to share with you important guidelines that we feel will help make your online experience more beneficial and the responses to your questions more efficient.

Please take the time to read the below guidelines.

- The community will be checked by an educator every Monday and   Thursday
- The educator only needs to be tagged if you can not find the             information in the lesson notes, brief sheets or module checklists or if you are wanting to clarify a brief.
- “Clarifying the Brief” is only necessary for the 12 assessments detailed on the assessment brief sheet.
- Always check what other students have posted to the community. They might have the same question as you and an educator may have already responded on their post.
- If an educator is happy with how your work looks and believes you are on the right track they will not comment but simply add a like ‘+1’ to your post, meaning your work is correct. This, however, is not a formal assessment of the work.
- Please keep to a limit of 5 images per post.
- Please choose either the online community or email in seeking assistance from the educator.
- We try to respond to your posts as soon as possible and we really appreciate your patience.

This community is primarily designed as a student sharing community. We love to see your work come through and the feedback you give each other.

We hope these guidelines will help with your assessments and providing you with answers and feedback more efficiently.

As always you can email designspot@iscd.edu.au if you have any urgent questions.

Are you on Module 5 of the Certificate IV in Design?

Please read the below announcement...

Happy Monday everyone!

I am excited to inform you all that we have just uploaded the commercial brief videos for Designer Rugs & Papier d'Amour.

These videos were recently filmed on campus and are designed to assist you in providing further background information of the briefs from the judges themselves.

I am sure they will help to clarify the briefs and inspire you!

You can find these videos on the google drive under Module 5 in the Commercial Briefs Video folder.

Please be patient when downloading the videos as they are large files. If you have any issues at all please let me know through the designspot address.

Happy Watching!

Mondays Creative Minds...

Name?
Mon (Monique) Rosewarne

Why did you decide to study with ISCD?
I am employed as a Graphic Designer for our local council, my experience is all self taught and I have had no formal training. I also own a Painting and Decorating business with my partner Mitchell. Both of these have contributed to the decision to study with ISCD. Firstly, I have the knowledge but no qualification, if I decide to look else where to better my career, most employers look for the piece of paper, aka 'the qualification'. Secondly I want to further my business in Print and Design, be able to colour consult and design our wallpapers etc.

What is your favourite colour?
To be honest I am not real adventurous when it comes to colour, I am a monochrome sort of girl most days and like everything minimalistic and black & white. Other days I love earthy tones, burnt oranges, sunshine and sandy yellows, stone greys and charcoals.

If you aren't working through your modules where would we find you?
Studying to try and finish my Bachelor of Technology Education, renovating my country home, surfing Pinterest (addicted) or at the cinemas, I am a big movie buff.

What do you hope will be the outcome of studying with ISCD?
That I will finish with more understanding of colours and how they impact on an environment, would love to bring that knowledge to my clients.

What are your goals for 2016?
- Allow more time to be creative
- Learn to meditate
- Save enough money to go travelling in 2017

I love your 2016 goals! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all the questions!

Mondays Creative Minds...

Name?
Brooke Elliott

Why did you decide to study with ISCD?
I wanted to study with ISCD because I love being creative, even when the creativity is a fail. I love all things colour, the brighter the better! but also love with all things grey & monochrome.
I would also like to be able to have more knowledge in all aspects of design.

What is your favourite colour?
If I have to pick one, green. Otherwise, blue, grey, hot pink.

If you aren't working through your modules where would we find you? At a building site, I am a carpenter. When not working or studying you can find me at the beach, in the garden or renovating our house.

What do you hope will be the outcome of studying with ISCD?
I hope that I will have more knowledge in design and be able to work in a job I love.

What are your goals for 2016?
To complete my Certificate IV with ISCD!

Thank you Brooke for sending through your answers!

Daina will be available to answer your google+ questions so please continue as you have been and keep tagging Alison. Daina's answers will come up with Alison ISCD logo but will be signed with her initials, DJ. Daina will also reply to any questions emailed to designspot.

Remember that Diana is still learning this new role so please be patient and a reminder that you don't need to tag the educator on everything that you post.
