It doesn't get much better than fresh chips, great dips, and hand crafted drinks. Great pic, @neil2i5!

It's safe to say our coconut french toast is not your average french toast.... Topped with bananas, pineapples, raspberry puree, and powdered sugar, its no wonder why everyone that tries it goes crazy for it. Thanks for the shot, @lbsuperfine!

The only way to make the best food is to use fresh ingredients, are we right? That's why we try to use the freshest, organic ingredients to create each dish from scratch.

Menu
Experience Isabel’s Cantina, where cultures are thoughtfully integrated to create irresistible, modern taste sensations. Traditional Latin and Asian cuisines come together here, giving sustenance to a new kind of soul food.
Self-taught owner, cookbook author and chef Isabel Cruz brings her culinary Latin heritage front and center, adding to it the Asian influence she absorbed while growing up in Los Angeles. You can feel the passion that goes into each surprising new flavor combination, resulting in the bold and exotic – and surprisingly healthy- menu choices she proudly serves. By incorporating ingredients that range from spicy pork carnitas to tofu, our guests enjoy a vegetarian’s delight as well as a meat-lover’s paradise for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our dining space fires off with a decorative dragon hovered mid-flight above our front door and continues with a gigantic 15-foot Buddha statue propped above the dining room. We’re dramatic and hip, with intimate booths and warm colors, resulting in an atmosphere refreshingly atypical of coastal Pacific Beach.

Isabel’s Cantina is among the top breakfast places in town (served until 3p.m.), with good reason, boasting Banana-Blackberry Pancakes, Breakfast Tamales, Scrambles and Coconut French Toast. Lunch and dinner options include Ahi Wontons, Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Grilled Salmon with house-made salsas. Escape from the rowdy Pacific Beach bars and end up at Isabel’s Cantina for desserts such as Bananas Cantina and sin-free (sorta) Flourless Chocolate Cake. Our drink menu shimmers with enticing options, too, like Mexican Mochas and Brazilian Mimosas. Or, embrace the fire with a Bloody Dragon.

Really fresh and good food! I've been here twice and the service is friendly and very good looking! If you like hot waiters come here! I've had the Brian's Bowl which wasn't too impressive. Fresh but I could make it at home. I've also had their lentil soup, homemade and delicious, their mimosas are awesome! Their Rosemary bread is great along with the soup! I also got the tamales vegetarian style. Not bad either. Overall I love this quiet spot with high ceilings and lots of light coming in! It's relaxing and pleasant for lunch or breakfast.

A must visit for breakfast. Tried every kind of pancake they had and wasn't disappointed with any. Nice and light with great flavors - favorite were the peanut butter/choc chip & the mixed berry. Couldn't believe they served each one on its' own plate in style!

Fresh and not bad, but nothing was quite right either. Blue cheese salad was skimpy on the blue. Moscow mule was something like water and ice. Main course was a bean and undercooked rice burrito without the tortilla and very little meat. Waiter was whatever. Not terrible, but not what I would expect from a $$ restaurant. Just kinda meh.

I am being very nice on the star ratings for this place. The food is just o.k... The service was really slow. Took about and hour or more to get our food for a table of 7. None of the servers came around to acknowledge that the food may take longer than usual or that the kitchen is behind. Nothing. No one even came around to refill our water or ask if we needed anything. Luckily there was enough good conversations amongst our table to help us pass the time it took for our food. By the time our food came we were starving. Figured that it'd be worth the wait but for the most part we were disappointed. Do not think I would come back here again. Mostly due to the fact that it took so long for our food and no apologies or anything.

Best place to eat in PB. Great food and great service. Only got to eat for dinner, but the breakfast and lunch menu looks good too! A trip is mandatory for all vacationing in PB.

One of my favorite spots in PB! Eclectic, fun atmosphere with a giant Buddha-like statue in one corner. Tables are half couches/half chairs, and there's a little bar in the back. Service is always fantastic and the food is even better! I've had their kale salad, tamales, tacos, and the half chicken! Next time I'm going back for the Buddha bowl. Expect to pay about $15-20 for entrees and less than $5 for beer! Isabel's is a wonderful place for date night or a relaxing evening out with the girls. It's on Felspar, right next to Cafe 976. It's easy to miss, but if you see the red lights you're headed the right way. Give it a try!

This place offers fresh mexican food with a classy twist! They offer breakfast & lunch at 8am-3pm. Happy hour at 5-6:30pm and dinner at 5-9:30pm. I love how they make their tacos here. Any choice of steak, chicken, soy chorizo, or carnitas tacos (with rice & beans, fresh corn salsa and chipotle cream) is delectable. An entree choice fills you up but you won't feel heavy since the ingredients are in high quality. The servers are friendly and attentive.
