The AUDIO PRODUCTION AND ENGINEERING program is designed to train producers/engineers who are entrepreneurs, musically and/or technically creative.

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in:LIVE SOUND & SHOW PRODUCTION DEGREEThe Associate in Applied Science in Live Sound and Show Production is an occupational degree program designed to present sound and lighting performance enhancement through the blending of technology and aesthetic application. The program presents the fundamentals of acoustics, signal flow, color and light, basic electronics, audio, lighting, and video reproduction devices. Students are trained to be audiovisual engineers and designers who are proficient in the creation, operation, and planning of modern day musical, theatrical, event and corporate productions.Throughout the program, students are involved with hands-on exercises and real-world shows and events that enable them to apply their knowledge and refine their skills.
Associate in Applied Science (AAS) MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS DEGREE
The Music and Entertainment Business degree program is built for the creative person.
Music, television, film, videos, industrials, theatrical productions, video games, and graphic and web design are primary disciplines of the Music and Entertainment Business Degree Program.
The core curriculum covers such essential topics as: shopping a project, intellectual property rights, digital rights management, publishing, contract law, design, creative copywriting, communication and networking, history, business structures and economic maintenance, current events analysis, and strategic branding.
From desktop content creation to digital retail distribution students will have immediate experience with the professional tools, equipment, and software used throughout the industry.
This unique approach allows our students to build a portfolio of published work demonstrating their individual skills and abilities to potential employers and clients.
STUDENT RUN RECORDS
Student Run Records is an independent record label located in Minneapolis, operated solely by students at IPR.
Here students cut their professional teeth in a real entertainment business environment, applying what they learn in marketing, branding, graphic design, music production, artist development, and event planning to help budding artists gain traction on the scene.

• Develop, promote, & hold events such as concerts, fund-raisers, etc.

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in SOUND DESIGN FOR VISUAL MEDIA DEGREE
In AAS in Sound Design for Visual Media degree program, you will create sound effects and mix music for a wide range of multimedia. Experiences include recording and editing in the Foley pit, operating a boom, creating and mixing music and sound for video, and designing audio effects. You will also learn entrepreneurial skills—the business side of the field.
Students will learn key skills and concepts that necessary to meet the demands of a large scale audio / visual media project. These skills and concepts include advanced sound design, synchronization, sound effects creation, field and location audio recording, boom operation, ADR recording and editing, foley recording and editing, the creation and recording of music for visual media programs, and the audible mixing of these elements together.
Students will also learn how to make correct aesthetic decisions for the project they are working on, gain important organizational skills that include logging and archiving of media materials, and achieve the skills necessary to advertise and market the final product.
From small scale, low budget independent documentaries to multi-million dollar feature films, graduates will be well prepared for this exciting and rewarding industry.
