In the fabled summer playground of Fenwick this afternoon...frozen and still except for the scores of Canada Geese enjoying the scenery. Here to visit one of our projects, the specialness of this place is never lost on me, especially in the vacuum of winter when it feels like I'm the only one here. It was in this tiny borough, where the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound, that Hartford's elite established summer homes so many generations ago and where Katherine Hepburn called her favorite place on earth. Seen here is the Hepburn Family Compound, nestled between Long Island Sound to the front and a 3 acre pond to the back, it's here that Howard Hughes landed his sea plane, Spencer Tracy spent storied summers with Katherine, and one of those places we'll never forget we had the bounty of spending time.
