"Travellers hoping to pass through Dahala Khagrabari would need to cross from #India  to #Bangladesh , then Bangladesh to India, before finally passing from India, back into Bangladesh."
While we all love the excitement and joy of travelling, border crossings can be a bit of a pain at the best of times. Spare a thought then for anyone who travelled through the Indian enclave (a piece of territory which is owned by a country and is surrounded by another country), before 6th May 2015.

"The Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge that crosses the River Seine, in #France . Fair enough, you might think. But if you understand your Français, that sentence will probably be a little confusing at first, as Pont Neuf is actually French for “New Bridge”. What’s that all about?"

"Pomegranates are lucky in #Turkey  for a few different reasons. First of all, the red represents the heart, life, and fertility. Secondly, it is believed they have medicinal properties which will bring you good health throughout the year to come, and finally, they represent prosperity."
On New Year's Eve, you might make a resolution and hope for a fantastic year ahead, but did you know in some cultures that they eat specific lucky foods to welcome the new year?

"Thanks to a phenomenally successful advertising campaign in the 70s, Japanese families often tuck into a bucket of +KFC - Kentucky Fried Chicken on Christmas."
It's that time of year again. Mariah Carey is on in every shop, and vans full of soft drinks are driving around. It can only mean Christmas is almost here.

"In Oaxaca, #Mexico‬, they have a large festival devoted to the radish. Before you turn your nose up and think the world has gone a little mad, you should probably look at the bad boy radishes the Mexicans are growing first."
I am all for a vegetable, especially if it's a funny shape, but would I dedicate an entire evening around Christmas time to celebrate said vegetable? No, probably not.

"These sweaty rooms of steam are not only found in spas and gyms, but can also be found in homes, airport lounges, the Finnish parliament, and even offices."
It turns out; visiting a sauna is an integral part of Finnish culture.

"I don’t mind my neighbour. We don’t really talk or know each other’s names but we smile and say 'Hello' when we pass each other outside. But as far as I know, neither of us have considered holding joint military ceremonies each evening for 45 minutes, where we both compete to show which one hates the other more with lots of marching and chanting.

"That’s just one of the many things that separates us both from the countries of #Pakistan and #India."

As it’s almost #Christmas , we decided to sit down and share stories (over champagne and croissants) about different festive traditions from around the world.

(Some of them are a little bit “adult” so we don’t recommend you let your kids listen to this!)

Have you heard of any traditions we might've missed?

"The tradition of decorating a #Christmas  tree was brought to Greece in 1833 by the Bavarian royal King Otto, but decorating a boat goes much further back in Greek history."
In Greece, they've recently bought back an old tradition of decorating a boat instead of a tree, and it looks awesome.

"Coloured in camouflaging shades of desert browns, this intimidating little lizard has a peculiar false head, which is presented to his predators by dipping his real head."
We'e all familiar with animals, and the majority of us have one as a pet, but have you heard about these fascinating critters before? I'm willing to bet not!

We've put together a statement describing what we can do to help if you're currently in #Paris  or if you're booked to travel there soon:
On the evening of the 13th November 2015, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) changed their advice regarding France‎, ‎following the terrorist attacks in Paris. Paris is currently locked down and Disneyland Paris has been closed. If you’re currently in France, please contact your holiday company as soon as possible as they should be able …

Never ever use this company. They are shocking. They only told me my policy was single trip after I tried to make a claim. NOWHERE in my policy does it say Single Trip. I have the receipt to show you if you wish to see it. Stay far away. They are only after your money and will not help you. I am now abroad and with no travel insurance as it became void and they did nothing to help me when they told me this. NEVER USE THEM THEY WILL RUIN YOUR TRIP!!

Their Travel Insurance policies are a CON - do not buy! I purchased travel insurance with InsureAndGO for a weekend trip, my flights were cancelled due to an Air Controller strike... This cost me a lot of money as I lost return flights, car rental, hotel, etc. I had purchased a full policy with InsureAndGo but when I tried to claim they said this was my own fault for not checking beforehand for an organised strike.. They make it easy to buy a policy with them but make it as difficult as possible to contact them if you need to make a claim - Check Google other people have also complained of them doing the same thing!
