Who's getting outside this weekend? I jinxed Sydney with a photo of the sunshine earlier this week - nothing but rain and wind ever since. Still, I'm determined to beat it - anyone with me?!!

I question why I continue to follow the call of a different kind of life. Not better than others. Just different.

Maybe I was born to roam. My personality could have lent itself to change, to unpredictability, to spontaneity. Did I want to prove a point to myself that I could do this, determined to follow a dream.

I don’t know the answer to this. All I do know is that I am the way I am.

And it’s not my parents’ fault.

They say that everything is predetermined when we’re born. Our character, personality, way we interact. If so, I was born to wander but this wasn’t always so.

It's your time. Your life. Do what you love most. Be who you want to be. Find wonder in the world. Make time for the things that matter.
Introduction
Welcome to In Search of a Life Less Ordinary, a place for people who dream of, and create, extraordinary lives far removed from the well-worn path that many reluctantly tread.

I’m Russell Ward. I’m an expat and a writer. I share my experiences of making major life changes for the better – from moving abroad to changing my working world, exploring the great outdoors to learning to make time for the things that matter.

I created In Search of a Life Less Ordinary (ISOALLO) because I wanted to live my life to the fullest, not watch it pass me by. I wanted more from this life and I point blank refused to settle for less.

If this sounds like you, then you’ve come to the right place. Through my own experiences, I help you navigate these major life-changing events. Through my own journey, I help you bring about positive change.
