My friends and I had a fantastic stay here March 28th - 31st. Some of these negative reviews are ridiculous. This place is clean, spacious, and the staff are very friendly. There is a nice little coffee shop connected to the hotel, a bar area, and is centrally located just steps off Michigan Ave. Our room had two beds and very clean. Bathroom was nice, just needs a vent for those steamy showers. Great place to stay and nap. The terrace on the top is very nice too.

Jamie Cooper--We are grateful that you and your friends chose to stay with us recently! It is rewarding to read your wonderful comments about the Inn of Chicago. Glad you took the time to check out our 22nd floor skyline terrace during your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Highly disappointed in this hotel! My fiancé and I travel to Chicago frequently and we have stayed in this hotel every single time we have visited the city (for a reasonable price at that). There really isn’t anything that special about it, but it has sentimental value to us now just because we have made a lot of memories in the city and at this particular hotel. We are getting married this June 2015 and will be spending 2 nights in Chicago to begin our honeymoon vacation. Of course we want to stay at the Inn of Chicago on our honeymoon, but the rates for the Inn of Chicago on the nights we are visiting for our honeymoon are outrageously expensive (we have never paid more than $150 per night staying at this hotel, but the rates are more than 4 times this price). My fiancé contacted the hotel and explained this entire situation to them and asked if we could get a deal considering we frequent this hotel and it is for our honeymoon. They could care less about our past business and didn’t offer any type of discount. I guess we will be finding another place that values returning customers! We will never stay at this hotel again!

Gina Kalb-- We greatly value our loyal customers, and regret if the rates offered during your honeymoon dates were not acceptable. There is only so much we can offer on rates/availability during peak times in the city, and apologize for the inconvenience this caused you and your fiance. We don't want to lose a loyal customer like yourselves, and encourage you to speak offline with our Hotel Manager to find a alternative solution. Please contact Nick Katinos at: 312-573-3132.

Older (1930's), once high-end hotel, deco style hallmarks remain (elevators a good example), great ambience, nice bar, only feet from the Magnificent Mile, close to everything, and reasonably priced for the center of Chicago. Plain rooms but some have great views. A hotel with character, and very appealing if you like the more unique hotels.

Don't bother. The room was okay, but you're more than likely going to be overcharged and not even told why! I paid for a day-use room, because I was only in the area for a short time and wanted somewhere to rest but not spend the night. The advertised price was $85. I was charged $150, on top of another $50, plus an extra $98, and I STILL haven't heard back from them on why! I literally did nothing but sleep there..

Chris Saikyo- We would like to discuss this offline and find a resolution right away. Please contact our Hotel Manager, Nick Katinos, at: 312-573-3132 or via email: nick.katinos@innofchicago.com.

Came into Chicago around 11pm and saw the Inn had rooms so I got a double queen room. 175$ shouldn't be bad right? Wrong. I've stayed in better motel 6's. The bath tub was half full of water, there was hair from the previous guest everywhere, the TV had such a minimal volume it was laughable, and for 175$/night I expect a door with a better lock then the broken chain one provided. The wallpaper was peeling in places and the hallways smelled of must. Would not recommend to anyone. You pay for being so close to downtown, and that's it.

Jarred Lipp-- It disappoints us to learn of the condition of your guest room, and hope you communicated this to one of our associates while on property. It would have been our top priority to find a resolution for you. Please be assured of our best efforts to regain your confidence in us.

Close to the mile, transport, and sites. old school hotel. Price was ok as well. If you want 5 star go to the hyatt. If you want a bed and a place to stash your gear stay here.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Dean--Thank you for your comments. We take pride on our historic and affordable accommodations right off the Magnificent Mile.

Worse experience ever in a hotel. I just got back from Chicago and felt I needed to keep you away from this place. The one good thing is the location. Where do I begin. Well lets start with the inside of the hotel. The only thing modern is perhaps the lobby. Although the picture on there site looks good the rest is crap. There is a small bar the size of my buddies in his basement. The bar is right near the entrance and you watch people come and go. The elevators are small and run down like the ones in Europe. The halls are dark and old looking. Oh and now the rooms! After reading reviews of bed bugs... I was prepared for this and checked everywhere. for bugs. I placed my bag on the small table in the room and never left anything on the floor. The room was about 12 x9 and had no fridge. The make shift closet was so small the cloths stuck out into the hall. The bath room had the smallest vanity you could find at ikea and when i bent over to brush my teeth my butt hit the curtains of the shower. The tiles on the wall where broken and the tub was chipped in several spots. Even the Doors to the rooms did not have seals to keep out noise in the halls. Although the hotel was "Crap" the staff did there very best and where very professional. For the two days I stayed there I payed Hwy robbery prices. I have stayed in better motels.. I am 100% telling you the truth. I hope the hotel sees this because its costumers that keep them in business.. STAY AWAY.
