It was a great honor this morning for our company president,
Bruce Summerville, to receive the Heart of an Eagle award from the Greater Alabama Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Bruce was joined by his fellow founding members of Inline Electric Supply Company, to help celebrate this prestigious honor.

U.S. Senator Luther Strange was the Keynote Speaker and U.S. Representative, Mo Brooks, was in attendance as well as Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle.
Co-Award Recipient was former NASA Astronaut Dr. Owen K. Garriott. Dr. Garriott is a highly decorated former NASA Astronaut that served on historical NASA missions Skylab3 in 1965, and Spacelab1 in 1983.

Just in time for the snowy weather, here are some winter energy saving tips from the Department of Energy. Keep your curtains back during the day, to take advantage of the sun's heat. Cover drafty windows with plastic. Find and seal leaks with weather stripping, caulk, or expanding foam (available at Inline). Also make sure to keep your fireplace closed when not in use, and now that Christmas is over, it may be time take down those cheery lights. More tips here:

Congratulations, and best wishes to Wesley McBrayer of Gadsden Water Works! Wesley won "Ideal Industry's Skills Challenge," finishing an obstacle course of electrical skills in just 44 seconds at Inline's Gadsden Open House. He's headed down to Orlando this weekend to compete for a $75,000 first prize! Good luck Wesley!

This is video of another electrician attempting the skills challenge.

Tesla's announcement of solar roof could be a big step for solar tech and renewable energy. But does it make sense economically? Each solar shingle is less efficient than a traditional solar panel.
