These conversation-starter #MixedMedia #sculptures by 2018 IWAF artists Kat Hogan and Jerome Ellis combine #FusedGlass, metal and #FoundObjects and #vintage items.

"We create our pieces with the intention to make people smile," say the Las Vegas, Nevada-based artists. "The work is conversation art. People see the whole piece first, then start noticing the fused glass and vintage item details. We use nostalgic vintage pieces, which bring back good memories for a lot of people."

A true collaboration, Kat first creates a glass piece either using the copper foil stained glass method and/or kiln formed fused glass. Jerome then creates a steel sculpture around the glass by cutting, shaping and welding pieces of steel. The outcome is always the creation of exciting, well designed sculptures that exude joy.

Meet Kat and Jerome and see their colorful collection of #MetalSculpture at the 16th annual +Indian Wells Arts Festival, an International Palette- March 30, 31 & April 1, 2018, at the +Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Test your knowledge of architectural history with this incredible, 3D-printed puzzle, which seamlessly collages elements from over 30 iconic buildings together to form one rectilinear 1:300 scale model.

The model includes architectural feats such as the great #HypostyleHall from the #KarnakTemple, the nave of #ReimsCathedral, and a mini version of Chicago’s #RelianceBuilding — revolutionary in the 1890s for its glass-covered exterior.

When I see a broken toy, I see my childhood. When I see a tarnished tailgate, I see the first truck my dad helped me buy."

Meet Jim and discover his collection of memories transformed into functional art and furniture at the 16th annual +Indian Wells Arts Festival, an International Palette- March 30, 31 & April 1, 2018, at the +Indian Wells Tennis Garden. www.IndianWellsArtsFestival.com
