These K-Pop MVs Have The Most Culture Appropriated Content

K-Pop artists have been in some hot water lately due to international fans calling them out for their cultural appropriation. Whether it was for a stage concept, MV or dance routine, these K-Pop groups and artists were all guilty of culture appropriation one way or another. Check out who did in the list down below.
G-Dragon has an unfortunate history with upsetting black fans due to his at times racist posts and culture appropriation found in his MVs. “Michi Go” is just one of them. Fans were upset by his manny offensive hairstyles.

4Minute literally drove fans “Crazy” with their Hip Hop concept. Imitating Latina and African American culture, the girls are all ‘thugged out’ as the rock bucket hats, grills and twerk in their MV. Jay Park was nothing but swag in his MV for “MOMMAE” but fans noticed he almost appeared like a cop out as he purely imitated cliche rap videos you’d find in the U.S.A. Everything about the MV had fans cringing. CL’s “Baddest Female” was another no-no from the public. Unfortunately, her song contained too much gang imagery due to people covering their faces with masks, bandanas and her rocking braids and twerking on the streets. T-ara’s concept might have seemed fun and charming, but the girl group definitely stepped on some toes with their “Ya Ya Ya” release. The MV depicts the girls as Native Americans dancing around a fire and a cute boy they captured. They even wear headdresses on stage during their lives. Zico did everything that could make a fan upset in his MV for “Tough Cookie.” With guys circling on their bikes with grills, long gold chains, braids, gang masks, throwing up signs and even demeaning women and sexuality, “Tough Cookie” was one for the books. HyunA’s “Red” also showcases some cultural appropriation as she can be seen donning some ancient Egyptian attire and using it to enhance her sex appeal rather than what it is meant for. Pritz shocked fans left and right with their debut for “SoraSora” due to their military school girl uniforms that featured an arm badge similar to Hitler’s swastika. Why, girls… why?   What do you think of this eye-opening list? Are there any other K-Pop MVs you can think of that misuse culture? Share the videos down below!

Hara Is Under Fire For Uploading This Photo

Fans are completely shocked by Hara, previous member of KARA. recent actions. The seemingly innocent idol uploaded a photo to her personal Instagram and shocked fans with her caption and more.

Hara uploaded a photo of a hand rolled cigarette on her Instagram on July 25th with the caption reading, ” This is tasty. This taste good.” After being uploaded on staying on her Instagram for a few minutes, it was immediately deleted after she received a few likes on it.  Fans began questioning if it was just a cigarette and flooded the post with comments. Fans were completely shocked and started showing their disgust in the post immediately. Fans wrote, ” “What is this? I don’t see the reason why she would delete it immediately if it was just a cigar”, “She’s an adult so it doesn’t matter if she smokes or not but it’s weird because she deleted it immediately.” Some fans started to speculate if someone hacked her Instagram or uploaded this sort of photo without her permission. So far, it seems less likely. Fans even started pointing fingers at Sulli, who is known for having a good relationship with Hara and her mischevious behavior on Instagram. Fans wondered if Sulli is starting to have a negative influence on the idol? However, fans quickly suggested in the end that Hara is old enough to make her own decisions and not to blame one idol for another’s actions. What do you think of Hara’s recent post?

BTS Continue Their International Fame With This Recent Achievement

BTS continue making waves overseas and dominating our headlines. The boys have featured on numerous American celebrity TV programs and news, such as E News, BillBoard and more. Now, the boys earned another spot with Rolling Stone.

While the boys were already featured on Rolling Stone in the past, they recently earned another spot on their list of ’10 Artist You Need To Know: July 2017.’   The boys were featured on a list of other honorary artists such as Jonas Blue ,  Kacy Hill  and  Missio but appeared to stand out among the rest due to their foreigner status and big win previously at the BillBoard Music Awards. The post read the following; ” Why You Should Pay Attention:   BTS, short for “Bangtan Songyeondan,” or, in English, “Bulletproof Boy Scouts,” debuted in 2013 and quickly became one of Korea’s hottest new acts. In America, they’ve sold out arenas in Anaheim and New Jersey, and when their airplane landed in Chile, they were greeted with Beatles-esque pandemonium. On record, the group’s seven members trade quick, four-line verses that often tackle previously taboo subjects like politics and depression.” The post also featured their latest comeback remake of Seo Taiji’s “Come Back Home” and commented on their distinct music style. They described their music as being, “K-Pop gone trap, trop-house and even neo-soul; the seven-headed boss you face at the end of a rap music arcade game.” They also recommended their music to anyone who are fans of Justin Beiber and Big Bang. What do you think of Rolling Stones kind post on our favorite K-Pop boy band? Share the love in the comments below!

Celebrities Are Denied This Privilege After T.O.P's Marijuana Scandal

Ever since Big Bang’s T.O.P’s scandal involving drugs and marijuana, as well as his issues regarding his enlistment in the army, fans and idols have both expressed their concerns. Unfortunately, his actions did not come with out repercussions.

Because of T.O.P’s misconduct during his two-year mandatory military service, idols and Korean celebrities are no longer allowed to enlist as conscripted policemen. However, this isn’t all T.O.P’s doing. The position within the army was already in motion to be removed and abolished from the military a few years ago. Yonhap News  reported on July 24th that the conscripted policeman system will be completely abolished in the year 2023. While the system will be put to an end step by step over the next few years, the military decided that the celebrity conscripted policeman will be the first to be abolished. The police will no longer be choosing a celebrity as conscripted policeman as of 2018. It isn’t to say that it is entirely T.O.P’s fault, however, his actions did further their decision making. According to other news and media outlets, JYJ ‘s  Junsu ,  TVXQ ‘s  Changmin ,  Super Junior ‘s  Siwon , are currently serving as celebrity conscripted policeman. They are expected to be the last celebrities to serve as conscripted policeman for the mandatory military service until 2018.  In other news, T.O.P received a sentence of two years probation with 10 months in prison if he breaks his probation. He also had to pay a measly $12 fine. What do you think of T.O.P’s influence on these decisions?

CNBLUE's Yong Hwa Admits This Trait & Why He Won't Go Out With This Celebrity

CNBLUE’s Yong Hwa appeared on an episode of JTBC’s ‘Immortal Summit’ on the 24th and they delved a little deeper into his personal life and some of his traits and habits. Yong Hwa was very open to revealing these interesting things about himself and his celebrity relationships.

Yonghwa admitted that he was more of a home body and preferred the comfortable, isolated lifestyle in the house more than being out and about in the hustle and bustle of the streets. The MCs found it quirky and questioned if he knew any other idols with similar traits to which he replied that he shares this close connection with singer Lee Joon. “That hyung never leaves the house. So when we call each other, we respect each other’s distance. We never say to each other, ‘Let’s go eat.’ If I ask, ‘What are you doing today?’, and he says, ‘Oh, you know, just…’, then I know to automatically say, ‘Okay, then let’s go eat next time’.” Yong Hwa continued to explain that because they are on the same level and understand each other, there are no harsh feelings towards their replies.  It appears they never eat out because they simply just don’t want to or aren’t always in the mood. Completely understandable.  In regards to the rest of his personality and traits, Yong Hwa revealed he is afraid of driving, doesn’t go shopping often because of his personality and fear. He also doesn’t like playing video games but enjoys a day of watching hit American shows at home. The perfect homebody life, right? What do you think of Yong Hwa’s charming personality?
