Silver Nanoparticles
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
#SilverNanoparticles have unique #optical, electrical, and thermal properties and are being incorporated into products that range from photovoltaics to biological and chemical sensors. Examples include conductive inks, pastes and fillers which utilize silver nanoparticles for their high electrical conductivity, stability, and low sintering temperatures. Additional applications include molecular diagnostics and photonic devices, which take advantage of the novel optical properties of these nanomaterials.
Exploring the Alternative Uses of Broccoli
*******************************************
#Broccoli, a plant from the #Brassicaceae family is known for its nutrient values, had been cultivated for ages. In economic terms, we can underestimate its potentiality as 21 million tons of Broccoli is produced each year. Poor Post harvesting methods however are leading gross wastages of 35% of the crop produced.
Broccoli is a rich source for bioactive compounds like arotenoids, phenolic compounds, vitamin C, and glucosinolate and could prove its potentiality to prevent cancer in several clinical studies. Authors Daniel Villarreal-García and Daniel A Jacobo-Velázquez have explored the possibilities of minimizing the waste to the broccoli due to poor post harvesting preservative measures.
Somatic Pain
===========================================
#SomaticPain - a type of nociceptive pain. Pain felt on the skin, muscle, joints, bones and ligaments is called somatic pain. The term musculo-skeletal pain means somatic pain. The pain receptors are sensitive to temperature (hot/cold), vibration, and stretch (in the muscles). They are also sensitive to inflammation, as would happen if you cut yourself, sprain something that causes tissue damage.
#Retinal #StemCells
************************************************
There are many types of cells in the neural retina to contribute to the retinal regeneration. Fishes, amphibians and chicks at the margins of retina that contribute to the normal growth of the #eye and can reproduce the #cell in case of injury or damage. In adult fish there is a specialized progenitor population in retina that can regenerate rod photoreceptors selectively.
Health Journalism as a Tool to Promote Public Healthcare System
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#PublicHealth systems across the globe today are pressurized immensely due to the outbreak of several chronic communicable and non-communicable diseases including HIV/AIDS, Zika, Ebola, Malaria and Cancer. The nation states are finding it extremely difficult in controlling the pandemic due to lack proper mechanisms that is useful in reaching all the stake holders with information. Despite the revolution in Information and #CommunicationTechnologies (ICTs) and massive funding on disease control, the governments, the national and International agencies are lagging behind in meeting their goals.
Authors Ghose Bishwajit,Yang José,Renato Peneluppi Junior,Sajeeb Sarker and Sandeep in their study published in Insight Medical Publication’s Journal of Healthcare Communications have explored the gaps within the communication process. Although the spread of communication technologies have facilitate the quick and efficient ways of communication, it is not even and free from any regional, socio-economic and gender discriminations. The study highlighted the need to promote North- South cooperation and South-South dialogues and recommended for the equal participation of all stake holders to reach the grassroots with vital information on healthcare. Health Journalism as a tool of communication goes a long way in advocating public health policies and effective knowledge management.
