There is only one true people of God. Many make a radical distinction between the church and Israel, but such a distinction simply does not exist as can be seen by the Apostle Paul's words in Ephesians 2.

Prayer is one of the distinguishing marks of a true Christian. It’s something that stood out in the Apostle Paul’s life right at conversion. Acts 9:11b –  “look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,”

Paul talks about some of the mighty works God has done in his life, namely the work of God's faithful discipline.

It is not great talents God blesses so much as great likeness to Jesus. A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.  A word spoken by you when your conscience is clear, and your heart full of God's Spirit, is worth ten thousands words spoken in unbelief and sin. - Robert Murray M'Cheyne

If another Christian or one of my pastors, comes to me to share something they feel is a need in my life, do I respond with defensiveness or do I quietly listen, truly hear what they are saying and make sure I understand it, and thank them for coming, and then examine myself before the Lord to receive what He wants for me? If I do, that is maturity and Christ-likeness. How I respond at those times will make all the difference between real growth and change or not. - Mack Tomlinson

Once we come to the point of realization that we simply do not deserve our next breath- humility can begin.  We deserve utter ruin and being crushed to pieces, but for grace- we go.  How now shall we live?

The sanctity of human life & the sanctity of God's Name go hand in hand. Where God's name is no longer hallowed, neither is life. - Paul Washer

Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron.  - Psalms 107:10-16

The Bible teaches us that every single promise in the Old Testament that applied to a Jew also applies to us who are in Jesus Christ. The greatest reality about Israel is that Jesus Christ is the true Israel and we only become such by faith in Him.

When we study eschatology we must not first launch out into the complex “calculus” of Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation. We must first consider some basic apostolic “math” and view the really simple formula of how Paul the apostle views this subject of the ages. With that said, let us go to Ephesians 1:16-21.

Why preach a series on eschatology? First, because Dispensational Premillennialism commandeers many of the promises that belong to the church. Secondly, the church’s urgency is dulled by this eschatology. Thirdly, that system commandeers one of our basic Biblical interpretation methods. Fourthly, the church’s missionary hope is commandeered. Lastly, that system takes from the glory of Christ and the church and goes back to the shadows again.

The Bible never tells you that you must feel but that you must repent and believe. Your complaint that you ‘can’t feel,’ is just an excuse, by which your wicked heart would justify you for not coming to Christ now. - Ichabod Spencer
