Successful Outcomes from Pacific Energy Efficiency Project - Phase 2 (PEEP2) - The key achievements of PEEP2 included the implementation of 34 energy efficiency projects following ADB procurement guidelines. With a total investment by ADB of more than US$1.9 million, these projects have resulted in energy annual savings of 3,411 MWh, annual cost savings of $1,458,922, and CO2 savings of 3,204 tons/year. The cost of saved energy across these projects was low (e.g., an average of 6 cents/kWh in Samoa); comparing this cost with the electricity tariffs in the PDMCs – which range between 29 and 61 cents/kWh – demonstrates the economic attractiveness of these energy efficiency measures. http://iiec.org/index.php/iiec-news/607-successful-outcomes-from-pacific-energy-efficiency-project.html

ADB releases "Knowledge and Power: Lessons from ADB Energy Projects" - This publication comprises of an overview of the energy sector and 15 case stories from different subregions and subsectors in Asia, focusing on ADB-wide project-level knowledge to promote cross-departmental and cross-DMC learning. Case study samples of promoting energy efficiency e.g. The Philippine Energy Efficiency Project (PEEP): Lighting Up the Philippines in an Efficient Way, and other cases in China and Indonesia.
Asia's #energy  demand is higher than anywhere else in the world.

Two new ADB publications on energy - just launched today - address #sustainabledevelopment  goal #7 (Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all). Check them out here:
