The IEEE Executive Committee, that worked generously to make 2012 IEEE SCEECS a grand success,
enjoyed an overwhelming response not only from India but also from other countries. Over 600 papers were reviewed by the Reviewer Committee consisting of 132 experts from acamedia, research organizations and industry. The conference emphasised more on research areas of computer science, electronics and electrical engineering. Since then it has been industrious towards making SCEECS'16 a grand success.

Mr. Prafulla K Nilosey, former vice president and head of the HR department of Larson & Turbo Heavy Engineering, inspired the students at SCEECS 2014 to look for learning opportunities instead of looking for high salaries. Also an alumnus of MANIT, he talked about the education system starting from old to modern education system. He motivated the students to develop high endurance to mental, physical and emotional stress.

Srajan '13 with the tagline Ideate, Innovate and Create, aimed at celebrating technical innovations around the world provided a stage for all engineering students to showcase their technical expertise. This student project contest also included a guest lecture by Jeff Lieberman, the host of popular TV show -Time Warp and currently working at MIT Media lab. One of his main interests is making kinetic sculptures. He explained the bursting of soap bubbles and water droplets to a millionth second which enthralled the gathering at Srajan. Besides, he presented a 6m long musical robot in a video presentation which mesmerized the audience.

Anand Chitipothu is a passionate programmer and an open source enthusiast. After completing his M.tech from IISc. Bangalore, he went on to take a job in Strand Life Sciences- a startup from IISc itself. 

Anand currently works on Open Library- a project under Internet Archive which aims to have a web page for every book ever published. He is also actively involved in organizing PyCon India. Being the leader of Python Express which is an initiative on organizing Python workshops around the country, he is making the best use of his knowledge to make an impact on the world.

With the aim to encourage UG and PG Research work in our institute, IEEE MANIT Student Branch is conducting a seminar to explain the procedure, benefits and intricacies of writing and publishing a Research Paper.

A research paper is the first step in the making of any successful academic career and we invite all of you irrespective of your branch and year to attend this seminar.

This seminar is open and free for all the students.

Teamwork is indeed the backbone of a successful conference. Individual commitment and the group's concentrated effort is what made SCEECS 2014 a roaring success and a unique conference that offered new insights and revelations for the veterans and welcomed and encouraged the newbies.
The bridge between success and failure is a great team and SCEECS '14 has proven it.

Dr. CP Ravikumar enlightening the audience on the role of technology in various fields at SCEECS 2014.

    Dr. CP Ravikumar is a senior technologist in the ASIC Product Development Center at Texas Instruments, India which is a pioneer in the semiconductor industry. Prior to joining TI, he served in the Dept. of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi as Professor.He has authored over 150 technical papers and globally acclaimed books. He is also a visiting faculty at the University of Southern California and is known for his inordinate knack in VLSI design and low power electronics.

Professor Walter Lewin, addressing the gathering at the International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science- SCEECS under the banner of IEEE.
 
      Dr. Walter Lewin is a Dutch astrophysicist and former professor of Physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. He is widely known and esteemed for his lectures on Physics and numerous online courses taught on edX and MIT Open Courseware. Professor Lewin is ranked as the best professor in MIT, by the Princeton Review. Lewin is the discoverer of the first slowly rotating neutron star. He is also the recipient of Exceptional Scientific Achievement award by NASA. At SCEECS 2014, he delivered a lecture on ' Birth and Death of Stars' and enlightened the attendees about white dwarfs, neutron stars and black holes.
