Would you accept a job from a stranger in the pub?

Monte does just that in this week's +Friday Flash  , "Last Words".
Monte looked at the book lying on the table. No name was emblazoned on the spine or cover. “Seems like a pretty big book to be lugging around,” he said. He knocked back the last of his whiskey, win...

I'm talking about fantastical creatures, as well as my own Wolfkin from The Necromancer's Apprentice, over on the Dark Continents blog today.
Whenever you write anything with a fantastical bias, one of the advantages is being able to invent your own races and species. Whether you want winged beings, or horned warriors, you can just drop ...

Since I can't comment on David's blog (probably a glitch on this end), I'll leave the comment here:

I agree 100% (of course I would, I also write novellas). I've often said that size-wise, the novella is too long for most magazines, too short for book publishers, but just right for eReaders. If you're stuck in the back seat, or inside on a rainy afternoon, you can make a couple hours go by quite pleasantly.

I can't wait to see this exhibition!
The "astonishingly well preserved" Egyptian singer Tamut wore a glamorous wig, was adorned with amulets but suffered furred arteries and may have died of a heart attack

Introduction
Up here in the frozen north of England, I write Gothic and horror fiction, I knit and crochet, I analyse horror films, I make jewellery, and I take photos.

I write in several genres, but primarily Westerns and horror with a Gothic bent. I have two e-books available for 99c/70p, while my pulp Western, The Guns of Retribution, was released in September 2011. My latest release is a horror/fantasy novella called The Necromancer's Apprentice. It has a mummy horde in it.
