I thought that was a link to music. It looks like music. But I like it as art too.

A little pre-dawn action up with all the slackers was a great way to start the day.  Even a few lenticular clouds to liven up the party :)

It was nice to see some friends and make some new ones as well.  One the things I enjoy about photography :)  Cheers!

An important article including this analysis:
"Thus, while the federal poverty level for a family of three was $18,530 in 2011, a parent, preschooler and school-age child living together in Los Angeles County would have needed $64,480 to be self-sufficient."

Not the old, bland tourist nonsense that is too common in these popular beach towns. Really tasty burgers as vig as toyr head with both classic and funky toppings, and a nice selection of West Coast craft beers. Just a short walk from the beach but far enough away to be free from the maelstrom of tourists. We were very well taken care of Patrick. Remarkable enough that my brother said it was probably the best service he ever had. Oh, and get those bacon cheese tots. You will be glad you did.

Reinforcing my belief that hole-in-the-wall delis are where you most often find the best surprises, Sunrise was fantastic. My family and I, all overly critical when it comes to food, ordered a small plate each - one chicken souvlaki, two lamb souvlaki, and a veggie platter. Though the chicken and the lamb were filling and good, the veggie platter was amazing. The falafel was neither mushy nor hard, as it often is, but really crisp, moist and flavorful and described by someone in our party as "the best falafel I have ever had." All of us agreed and we ordered another half dozen pieces - happily downing them them with only a smear of their tasty hummus. ... and the dude working the counter was really great, suggesting that we try a little of this and that. We walked away with a powdery little rainbow of Turkish delight and an extra serving of falafel for later. Go. Enjoy.

I am kind of obsessed with this place. The donuts are the best take on classic donuts I have had, not just in Oakland, but anywhere. ...and the people there are always very cool. I recommend the apple fritters, particularly when they are fresh and hot, but the raised chocolate and maple are always there and always good. ... and if I find a batch of lemon cron'ts again, I might just buy the whole tray.
