Scientists are attempting to solve a weather mystery in Eastern Washington and northeastern Oregon this afternoon, where several reports have come in of a milky, dirty rain falling in those areas. Volcano ash from distant eruption? It's one of the theories. More:
While it's been a routine, rainy day in Seattle, those over in southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon have had a strange phenomenon: A dirty, milky rain. Several reports have come in from Spokane, Walla Walla, Pendleton -- and really across much of that region. The rain has left a dirty residue on cars and has flooded social media over there with people wondering what is causing the odd rain.

Dang.
In addition to acting, Mr. Nimoy directed films; published poetry, autobiographies and books of photography; and recorded music.

Many of Kafka's works, in particular his novels The Castle and The Trial, deal with an overwhelming, suffocating bureaucracy. Some have even described them as Kafkaesque. The DMV is often representative of a sort of large, inefficient, horrible bureaucracy in the United States.

Darwin’s children used the first manuscript of “On the Origin of Species” for scratch paper. A look at their drawings: http://nyr.kr/1M76cOE

This library was designed for decades past when most of Mill Creek was forest and farmland. Mill Creek of the 2010s is most definitely not forest and farmland, and the library feels crowded as a result. The density of people would be totally fine if, say, I were at a restaurant, but a library is a sort of place that should have a more introverted ambiance. The on-shelf book selection is a bit low, I suppose partly to accommodate reduced shelf capacity due to tables and computers. On the plus side, you can have any book, CD or DVD from the Sno-Isle system delivered here; the library system as a whole having a very nice selection.
