Plex's forums hacked, user data being held ransom 😡
Streaming service Plex's forums have been hacked, and the hacker is holding the data ransom in exchange for Bitcoin. Plex has announced that the hacker was able to gain access to IP addresses, email addresses, hashed and salted passwords as well as private message. Payment information is not stored on Plex's servers, so that information is still secure. The streaming service refused to...

Deconstruct My Digital Identity Through a Glitch Remix Video - #CLMOOC Make Cycle 1

Finally (hopefully) fixed my broken Vine. Moved it over to Instagram and blogged about it.

Now on to make cycle two. :)
For Make Cycle #1 of the Connected Learning MOOC (CLMOOC) 2015 we were to "unmake an introduction" to ourselves. We/I spend a lot of time polishing my digital identity. I partially do this so I can...

Some thoughts on why you should build and maintain your one space on the Internet as we make all of these cool...makes. :)
I just spent time guiding another group of educators as they create and curate a space of their own online. In this endeavor, it can be a scary, nerveracking experience for participants as they bui...

+Kevin Hodgson I agree that we all need a "domain of one's own." I think it's wonderful that we can use all of these free tools, and let all of the digital flowers bloom. The challenge is what happens when these digital tools go away. Also, think about the incredible connections we can make as we look across the content we share on Goodreads, or Soundcloud, or our own blog. In short...make it easier for others to learn more about the digital identity you want to represent.

And...1000 times yes...we need to do this with our students as well. There is so much red tape, AUPs, TOUs, and other BS in the way...but we need to do this with our students.

Imagine a world in which a student can leave high school with a website documenting the work they want to represent over time. More on this later. :)

Call Them Hippies, But the Grateful Dead Were Tech Pioneers #wired
Long stereotyped as hippies stuck in the Summer of Love, the Grateful Dead were for 50 years at the forefront of the digital revolution.
