The value of 'Thought-Followers' - love it.

A Thought-Leader to a Thought-Follower is like the difference between a Scientist v an Innovator.

We Also Need Thought Followers, Not Just Thought Leaders

I love, love, love this very clever post! Many of us aspire to become "thought leaders." Thought leaders are people who are out in front of the curve, bringing up new ideas or new ways of seeing things. They are the authorities others point to on a topic.

But Claire Rasmussen points to the value of what she calls "thought followers. What is a thought follower? She says it's "someone who is able to listen carefully and follow the thoughts of both clients and users. A thought-follower knows that they don’t have all the answers, but they do know where to find the information they need. A thought-follower understands that it doesn’t matter if it’s their original idea, only that it’s the right idea (or the right collection of ideas) for their client. For the thought-follower, expertise weaves together many sources—both internal and external—into a unified whole."

It made me realize that some of the people I value the most in my social networks aren't necessarily thought leaders, but they are great "thought followers." they help connect me to the right resources and ideas that they are able to pull together and synthesize around a given need or problem.

The post is worth reading, and goes on to relate "thought followership" to great content production.

I'd love you to do a full integration with SendReach, passing on the demographic data you snapped into the SRM along with the Facebook verified email. This allows the emails sent out by SendReach's autoresponders to be fine-tuned by demographics right from the start.

"It will take you less time and less effort to do it the difficult way than it will to buy and try and discard all the shortcuts." ....very true!
