I've released my Ubuntu 16.04.2 and updated Ubuntu 17.04 pseudo Alpha 2 ISOs which include a patched kernel for Intel Atom SoC devices based on the Canonical next 'zesty' (mainline v4.10) kernel and includes the HDMI LPE Audio Support patch set queue for (hopefully) v4.11 and Ubuntu 17.10 together with additional patches to support audio, wifi, bluetooth and booting on both 32-bit and 64-bit devices. See http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.au/2017/02/ubuntu-16042-and-updated-ubuntu-1704.html for details.

Version 3 of my latest kernel and ISO address a lot of outstanding issues when trying to run Ubuntu on Intel Atom based devices. They also include some notable improvements.

For the first time ever I've now seen working bluetooth on Bay Trail Realtek chip based devices like the Meegopad T02 and Star Cloud PCG02U. Also bluetooth on Broadcom chip based devices like the Tronsmart Ara X5 works as does HDMI audio on the Mini Neo Z83-A.

I've fixed the installation error that prevented 32-bit bootloader devices from installing successfully and an LVM installation (with/without encryption) is also now fixed.

Overall though this is the closest to a fully working Ubuntu ISO for a wide range of Intel Atom devices from stick to mini PCs and tablets than anything previously released ... see http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.au/2017/01/bleeding-edge-ubuntu-4100-57-kernel.html

Help test a new HDMI LPE audio driver for Ubuntu on Bay Trail and Cherry Trail devices as part of an effort to mainline HDMI audio. Try either my Ubuntu 17.04 Alpha 131216 (Daily Build) ISO or upgrade to my patched Zesty 4.9 kernel which includes the new driver and provide feedback on any issues encountered through its early adoption. See http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.au/2016/10/running-ubuntu-on-intel-bay-trail-and.html for more details include download links.
