At PyCon Korea today. They have a really great venue this year. I'm giving a talk tomorrow about gRPC microservices on Kubernetes.

A new blog post by me on the Kubernetes blog about namespaces. I'm really happy I can contribute to such an awesome project even if it's just blog posts for the time being ;)
One of the advantages that Kubernetes provides is the ability to manage various environments easier and better than traditional deployment strategies. For most nontrivial applications, you have test, staging, and production e...

I'll be talking at PyCon KR on Sunday but I'll be at the Google Developers booth all weekend. I hope to meet you there!
gRPC is a new high performance, open source, general RPC framework that uses the HTTP/2 standard. The gRPC framework allows you to create small scalable services that fit well into a service oriented architecture. Kubernetes is a cluster manager that allows you to create services that can be scaled easily. Service oriented architecture is a key part of how many companies, like Google, operate their infrastructure to provide robust, and highly ava...

Packing up as I'll be heading back to Tokyo for a brief few days at home. This trip to Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur was tiring but a lot of fun. I hope I can have a chance to come back soon.

Wow. This video is totally awesome!!!  Only a couple characters I wasn't familiar with. I wish it had Ohmu though :(

3D tribute to Hiyao Miyazaki. Includes Totoro and Catbus!. Interestingly it was created using Open Source tools: Blender, Gimp and Natron as well as Octane Renderer.
I've written extensively about my love of master of animation Hayao Miyazaki and his films. Though he only made 11 features, they're some of the most gorgeous, sumptuous, and wondrous movies ever made. (You can read all of my essays about his films at Miyazaki Masterclass.) It's very sad to me that he won't be making any more features, but I love that I'm not the only one who feels this way about him; many, many people, both in the filmmaking com...

Had a tomato and basil base pasta lunch. Salad had lots of hard vegetables and the dressing was bitter but of good quality. Pumpkin soup was quite good. Pasta is of good quality and delicious but comes in small portions.
