Hi Francois :) Sorry for taking so long to get back to you! Foreign languages isnt one of my strong points so I never decided to take it any further than high school haha, however!  I think i have found an answer to your problem.

Chromebooks are set up so you can switch keyboard inputs by pressing two keys and switching back by pressing another two. More information on that here: http://support.google.com/chromeos/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1059492
So you can set english as one keyboard and french etc as another.

Alternatively, pressing the alt key on the right hand side of the space bar and pressing the character for example e will turn out like this é. I think all the characters that you need, you should be able to get them using this method.

I hope this helps you! I fully recommend the chromebook as its a great machine, a great platform and it has never let me down!

If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know! :D
