Another good "how to" from the shoestring.

I recently attended my first car boot sale, and it was a whole new experience. I put together this handy guide to help you get the most out of your car boot.

+LinkedIn Please please please please stop spamming my work colleagues. It is unbelievable the way you take control of accounts and keep spamming people with invitations.

I was invited to connect my gmail account. I thought, "that can't hurt". I accidently connected my corporate gmail account rather than my personal gmail. Next thing I know, LinkedIn has sent invites to over 900 people and group aliases. I'm 90% sure I pressed "skip" invitations but even if I did press send, it shouldn't be that easy to make that mistake! I then I tried to withdraw invitations so that the reminders would stop going out. Why is there no way to do this in bulk? why did I have to go through each individually? I also emailed support to make sure. Mohammed assured me all invitations had been withdrawn. I breathed a sigh of relief and thought my nightmare was over.

This morning I realise that a whole bunch of new reminders have gone out!!!! This is incredible!! When will it stop????

It appears I'm not the first person to have these issues. There seems to be an ongoing law suit:
http://www.ere.net/2013/09/22/lawsuit-accused-linkedin-of-hacking-users-and-spamming-their-contacts/

I've shared my experience here: http://www.linkedinclassaction.com/ and would encourage others to do likewise. Stop the madness!!

Perhaps something for after the +The Shoestring Investor has finished his project

Are you obsessed with social media? There's money in that!

The University of Florida has compiled some interesting statistics. They've shown that not only is social media usage rising dramatically, but they've also demonstrated that while many businesses are profiting, many more still haven't adopted a winning strategy.

That's where you can come in.

This infograph is designed to help illustrate how valuable a social media marketer can be to a business, and how it's a viable career choice right now.

Whether you're looking for a new career or not, there are some stats here that I think you'll find very interesting, like how, "85% of all businesses with a dedicated social media platform reported an increase in their market exposure."

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

These are not your standard fitness trainers. These guys operate on a completely different level to anyone in the health, fitness and injury recovery industry. They are very intelligent, curious individuals who do not accept anything as the status quo. They have shown me a much much better alternative to traditional physiotherapy and back it up with deep understanding, extensive personal experience and real results. I would strongly recommend them to anyone suffering back pain (like me), muscular or joint problems, sports injuries or those wanting to get more from their bodies. I started coming to Integra about 5 months ago. I had been suffering from severe back pain for around 2 years and tried just about everything there is. I tried chiropractors, podiatrists, 3 different physiotherapists and surgeons. All of them had something different to say: "my back is too flat", "I have a leg length discrepancy", "my core muscles are too weak" and so on. I stretched, I did foam rolling, I did calf raises, hip clams and other pilates exercises everyday for about two years. Whenever I asked why it was not working, the answer was always "wait a bit longer". A friend recommended my to try Muscle Activation Technique and I came across these guys who seem to be the only people properly applying this technique in London. I went for a free consultation and with Michael and was instantly impressed with him. He was able to answer all my questions and was able to show how we could objectively measure progress. In 1hr, he demonstrated that he had a far better understanding of anatomy, muscle behaviour and pain than any of the so called specialists I had previously seen. I went on to pursue treatment from Paul and soon saw that all of the people working here are not your standard Fitness First "no pain no gain" instructors. Most of them participate actively in communities and are real thought leaders in their industry. They use a wide array of muscle tests to pinpoint weaknesses to muscles that you never knew you had. They then use palpations on your muscles to "activate" them and test them again. As if by magic, your body then starts moving in a way which it could not a few moments ago. They supplement this with resistance training in their gym. After about 5 months of sessions, I've seen real improvement in the way my body works. My back pain has reduced significantly and I am walking much more naturally than before. They have saved me an operation which had very poor success rates.

Best value Mexican in London in my opinion. The quesadilla for £6 is immense and could feed a small family!

I bought a second hand Honda Civic and took it there to be serviced for the first time. The customer service was excellent and they did their best to make it a very good experience. I dealt with Tom who was very pleasant and there was no sniff of them trying to take me for a ride. For example, my back brake pads were worn to 70% and they let me know and told me I didn't need to change them now. Car was lovely and clean and they left me the remainder of the windscreen cleaner to top up when I run out.

Still £9 which makes it a bit of a bargain. Friendly enough and my hair is shorter than it was.

We tried their new menu and weren't blown away by it but it was decent food for the price. I had the Cotto pizza but it felt like it was missing quite a bit of ham. The Buffalo Mozzarella starter was excellent though. It's probably on par with you average Pizza Express.

Thought the food was good for the price you pay. I don't know of any other Dim Sum restaurant you can go to and fill your bellies for £15 (not including drinks/deserts). Decor is swanky but I really don't like benches over real chairs. It just makes me want to leave earlier as the old back gets tired. Also, a mandetory 12.5% service charge is very high in my opinion for what I thought was decent service at best. It rarely came with a smile and it felt more like a production line than anything else.

Really nice local pub. Has a very relaxed and friendly living room atmosphere. The type of place where you might just go for the afternoon and play a bit of pool and get out the scrabble.
