Leap Second to strike at midnight UTC, 30 June 2015
25 leap seconds have been inserted in 40 years. Today another adjustment will be made to the universal time scale - Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - and a leap second will be inserted at midnight UTC.

#DigitalSwitchover deadline reached for EMEA + Central Asia
The deadline for the switchover from analogue to Digital Terrestrial Television (#DTT), set at 00:01 UTC on 17 June 2015, heralds the development of ‘all-digital’ terrestrial broadcast services for sound and television for 119 countries in +ITU Region-1 (Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
David Wood, Chair of ITU Working Party on Programme Production + Quality Assessment, tells the story of the transition from the ITU Geneva 2006 Agreement adopted by 119 countries to the 17 June 2015 historic landmark for broadcasting.
