Our research highlighted the benefits of moving from technocratic solutions to a process-based political approach --> http://www.iied.org/decision-making-uncertain-climate

BLOG: Local communities are the first line of defence in tackling the illegal wildlife trade. But there's little information on initiatives involving local people. Our new database aims to gather more evidence on approaches that work, those that don't – and why! --> http://www.iied.org/tackling-illegal-wildlife-trade-though-community-based-approaches-building-evidence-what-works

"Local communities are using a range of practices. One is the Mali Elephant Project. Amid escalating poaching, the community is providing much needed intelligence on suspicious activities, preventing a bad situation from becoming even worse."
