Congratulations to our award-winners at the IChemE Hull & Humber Member Group dinner. Our President Ken Rivers presented them with their awards at the event last Friday.

John Smith, from Phillips 66, was recognised with the Technical Group Presentation of the Year Award for his presentation in March, entitled ‘External Corrosion - Corrosion Under Insulation’.

Roger Dalby-Shaw has demonstrated both exceptional technical leadership and undertaken a responsible role in the Croda Major Plant expansion project, and was therefore recognised with the Hull & Humber Members Group Young Engineer of the Year Award.

Philip Samson was the winner of the 2018 Hull & Humber Member Group Chairperson’s Award. His career spans almost 40 years of design and process safety work at BP, and since retiring, he has been teaching students about process safety at the University of Hull. Richard Hoyes collected the award on Phillip’s behalf.
